📚Meet MLK Scholarship Recipient Mackenzie Bates📚 Mackenzie Bates is a Zanesville High School graduate of the Class of 2013. She is set to graduate the Ohio University-Zanesville campus in May of 2021 with her Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing. It has always been her dream to become a nurse, and simply care for people when they need someone’s love and compassion most. She loves Jesus, and she's not afraid to give him all the praise for where she is today because without him, she surely wouldn’t have made it this far. Her hobbies include spending time with my son/family, and church/youth activities.  She's grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to make a difference in the world, one patient at a time.

📚Meet MLK Scholarship Recipient Aaron Tonnous📚Aaron Tonnous '19 comes from New Concord, Ohio, and graduated from John Glenn High School in the top 1/3 in his class. I was also a CP student, was on the Principals list, and I graduated with high marks. At John Glenn, I participated in the Orchestra and was the third chair cellist. At the time, I also provided elder care to my geriatric Grandmother as she went through many debilitating surgeries in which she needed help around her house as she healed. At OUZ, I plan to pursue a major in History with a minor in English. I am also a member of Cru at OUZ, and I work tirelessly to improve my grades and test scores for the betterment of my future. At graduation, I plan to enter the job market in pursuit of a job as a Museum Curator. I am also hopeful that if I receive this scholarship to use it to help myself towards a better future.
