📚✨ A lasting investment in the future of Muskingum County.

The Mary Helen Straker Children’s Area at the Muskingum County Library stands as a wonderful example of how access to books, learning, and imagination can help shape the next generation.

Through the continued support of the J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation, opportunities are being created for children to explore new ideas, discover new interests, and develop a lifelong love of reading. The Foundation remains committed to strengthening education and enriching the lives of young people throughout our community.

We are proud to see young readers benefiting from a space designed to inspire learning, imagination, and discovery every day.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and recognize the lasting impact their sacrifice continues to have on families and communities across generations.

May their courage never be forgotten!

Happy Friday ☀️💙

As we near the end of another incredible class with Leadership Muskingum, we want to take a moment to recognize the people who make it all possible. Our sponsors and community partners are the foundation of this program—your support, investment, and belief in local leadership truly make a lasting impact.

Because of you, we’re able to grow, connect, and lead with purpose. We are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up and pours into others.

Thank you 🙏

Sawyer James, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Appalachian Ohio, and her newest leadership colleague, Amanda Huber, stopped at the J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation offices on Monday, April 6th with a very sweet thank you gift. We have to thank Big Brothers Big Sisters, in turn, for their hard work in an area that was a firm value and commitment for our founders: strong youth development.
