Kirkmont Center boasts a natural fen, two ponds (one for nature study and one for canoeing, paddle boating, and fishing), cliffs and natural ravines, and a work-in-progress Adena Indian archeological site. Kirkmont Center is classified by naturalists as one of the most unique parcels of land in the State of Ohio. Because of the site’s diversity, local schools avail themselves of Kirkmont’s environ

mental education program. Nearby is Campbell Hill, the highest point in Ohio (Kirkmont is the second highest). Other attractions near Kirkmont include Ohio Caverns (open throughout the year); the Piatt Castles, Mac-O-Chee and Mac-O-Cheek, built in the 1800s; Pioneer House, the family homestead of the Piatts and part of the Underground Railroad Network; and skiing at Mad River Mountain.

The rain did not slow any of the fun down. ❤️

Beginners Camp has come and gone,
Its songs still drifting through the trees.
Friendships were formed, memories made,
And laughter carried on the breeze.

Now the cabents wait once more,
Freshly swept and standing tall.
The pond lies still beneath the stars,
Ready to welcome one and all.

Tomorrow brings new faces,
New stories yet to unfold.
New campfires, new adventures,
And moments worth more than gold.

The staff are ready, the trails are too,
For another week of joy to begin.
A place where strangers become friends,
And confidence grows from within.

Tonight Kirkmont rests for just a little while,
Holding its breath beneath the summer sky.
For when the sun rises on PYC Jr & PYC,
The magic of camp will come alive.

Hi my name is Kelsie Snapp and I am apart of the summer staff here at Kirkmont.
This is my first season and I’m so excited! I chose to work here because I love the outdoors and being able to help campers while inspiring them to grow in all aspects of life has been so fun. I love to hike and read and a fun fact about me is I’m apart of the track team at Ohio State!
