The potter and the clay:How God shapes our lives!!

Started the lesson with playdoh. Each youth and leaders got to take one tube of playdoh and create a shape that reflects their lives right now.

Few examples:
Star - popularity, wanting recognition
Heart - relationships, wanting to feel loved
Key - looking to discover their purpose
Trophy- pressure to succeed
Butterfly- growing into a new stage of life

Note: there was over 50 of the shapes and meanings

But we then read Jeremiah 18:1-6

In scripture, the prophet Jeremiah watches a potter shape a piece of clay on a wheel. When the clay is marred, the potter reshapes it into another pot that seems best to him.

God uses trials, quiet moments, and daily obedience to mold our character. God helps us navigate purpose and pressure.

We ended with some questions. The last one asked how do we take Romans 12:2 and apply it to our lives?

We had them write one small, daily choice of obedience they can make this week to cooperate with how God is guiding them?

They put them on the door and we prayed over them!!

As parents, we know you're trusting us with something incredibly important, your kids.
Our goal isn't simply to give students something to do.

We want to create a place where they feel welcomed, loved, known, and challenged to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
The games are fun. The friendships are important.

But Jesus is why we're here. 🙏

Thank you for allowing us to help lead them and helping them to grow in Christ!

We had 16 join us for our all you can eat Chinese food!
