Our Privilege to host Fabi Rojas (Chi Alpha and “international student leaders” from SIU Carbondale) last week. Karen and I have Chi Alpha ROOTS from SEMO in the early 70’s. Karen was the president and I was a new Christian.
Fabi (from Peru) is the Chi Alpha Missionary Director for SIU.

Praise the Lord! So much to share!

It feels like we’re already off and running! The Lord provided the full amount of my monthly budget needed by August 1st—the exact deadline! Thank you, Lord!

The Student Leaders Retreat (photos below) was so encouraging, and the students are excited to begin this season together as a family of servant-disciplemakers who find, feed, and fight for every soul from every nation.

Please keep us in prayer over these next three weeks—the most important weeks of the academic year

• Aug. 10–12: International Student Orientation and Hospitality Dinners

• Aug. 13–14: SIU Welcome Week and move-in.

• Aug. 15: Welcome Picnic for new international students

• Aug. 17: Classes begin!

• Three weeks of kickoffs: Chi Alpha, Small Groups (Tribes), Undergraduate Bible Study, and Family Time Meetings.

Let’s go Jesus!!

Thank You SO Much!

Thank you for sending me to one of the world's most strategic mission fields. Together, let's reconcile students to Christ! With gratitude and in His love,
Fabi

Five ways God’s “GREAT GRACE ” helps you when faith is tested … Larry Stockstill
Have you been in a dry season or a long period of waiting in faith for something to change in your life?
I think you may be looking for a word called "Grace."
Grace is what you need when you are waiting on faith to work. I love the phrase mentioned in Acts 4:33: “And great grace was upon them all.”
When you are in a tough season, you don't just need a little grace—you need GREAT GRACE!

Here are 5 ways God's grace carries you through:

1. Grace is SUFFICIENT.
“My grace is SUFFICIENT for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
Grace is God’s power in weakness. When you don’t think you can make it, grace holds you.
The Bible encourages us to "come boldly to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Relax in prayer and let His power flow into you.

2. Grace is SUPERNATURAL.
“And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.” — Acts 6:8
Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit’s power, and that power was called "grace". It produced great wonders and signs. The spiritual gifts (including healing and miracles) stem directly from the Greek root for "grace".
God’s grace brought a miracle of healing into my body when I was dying, and I know His supernatural grace is ready to be released upon you!

3. Grace is SCRIPTURE.
“I commend you to God and to the word of His grace which is able to build you up...” — Acts 20:32
The actual words of Scripture contain grace! When you feel weak and faint, start meditating on God’s Word. Daily reading keeps your faith focused in hard times.

4. Grace is SERVING.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10
God gave you a particular grace gift—an "assignment". His grace works in and through you right now to accomplish your mission on earth.
Let it flow! Relax in your gift. Let grace do the work of preaching, teaching, serving, giving, or hospitality. I feel that flow of grace every time I teach the Word of God. It fits, it flows, and it’s His gift.

5. Grace is STRENGTH.
“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus… as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” — 2 Timothy 2:1, 3
You are a SOLDIER OF GRACE. You are not weak, passive, afraid, or timid—a soldier is brave, confident, and active.
When I was weak in my battle of faith, grace gave me strength. Whatever you are facing today, stand up in the strength of Christ. In every battle and trial, let grace hold up your hands and keep the sword in your hand.\
That is GREAT GRACE!
