Happy National Nurses Week! 🩺💙

Today kicks off a week celebrating all of the amazing nurses in our community and beyond. Thank you for your compassion, hard work, and dedication every single day. 🌟

During the week, nurses can also enjoy free coffee at Sunkissed or a free Dole Whip at Lemon Grove, generously donated by the local chapter. ☕🍍 And don’t forget — we’re wrapping up the week THIS Saturday at Nikki’s Chickies from 11–2 with FREE tacos for nurses! 🌮🐝

Chairman proclaimed May 2026 as “Nurses Month” and May 6–12, 2026 as “Nurses Week” in Yuma County.

Please join us in thanking the nurses who work tirelessly to keep Yuma County healthy and strong. 👏

Taking it back to where it all began… August 26, 2000 🤍

These photos capture the early days of Ángeles del Desierto, a chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, when a dedicated group of nurses and community members came together with a shared mission—to give back and support future generations 🩺✨

By 2002, they were already making an impact through scholarships and community outreach, setting the foundation for everything we continue today.

We love seeing familiar faces in these moments—including our current president, Sylvia Pelroy, who served as Historian back then 📖💙

To all the founding members and early leaders pictured here—thank you for your vision, your heart, and your commitment to this community. Your legacy continues to grow 🙌
