MOAA Yuma Chapter Social Meeting

MOAA Yuma Chapter Members, invited guests, and local military/service officers interested in joining our local chapter.

Date: Wednesday 27 May 2026 (Note the date change to the 4th Wednesday this month).

Time: 1300 (We are starting 30 minutes earlier that we have been doing in recent months).

Location: Crossing Grill & Bar, 2690 S 4th Ave, Yuma

We will be in the Meeting Room.

Our speaker will be Mark Schauer, Public Affairs Officer Yuma Proving Ground.

This Month’s Meeting
› Program. Join us on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at 1:30 PM at The Crossing Restaurant. This month our program will be recognizing our chapter’s Surviving Spouses.
› Venue. We will again be meeting at The Crossing Restaurant, 2690 S 4th Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364. Please try to arrive as close to 1330 as you can. You will be ordering off the menu, so it is best to peruse it prior to attending.
› RSVP. Please RSVP to Rob Filbey (928 783 5274) or by email: [email protected] prior to noon on Tuesday, 14 April so we have an idea of who will be attending. We look forward to seeing everyone at this meeting. Feel free to call another member if you need a ride.

MOAA Yuma Chapter Social Meeting

We will be in the Meeting Room.

However, we have had an interesting development. Our projected speaker could not get a release to speak with us. So, we are working on some other options; our chapter president Jim Adler has some very timely information relating to MOAA sponsored Advocacy in Action legislative items. He will also provide a firsthand report on the Blue Angels participation at the MCAS Yuma Air Show on Saturday.

Please try to arrive as close to 1330 as you can. We will be ordering off the menu.

The program will be presented by the “Cookie Lady”. She is a person with a special mission of providing cookies to personnel on the Air Station. She will be speaking about her experiences over the years with her special project.

Upcoming Event - Christmas Social Meeting

Time & Date: Wednesday, 17 December 2025, 1745.

Suggest you eat dinner before arriving as we will be offering Cake and Ice cream for desert along with coffee, lemonade and water. Suggest a $10.00 donation per person to help cover the ice cream and cake.

Location: Arizona State Veterans Home–Yuma, 6051 E 34th St. Turn south off 32nd St at Ave 6 E. Then turn East on 34th St. Your destination is on the right. There is a parking lot. Enter the facility through the main entrance. We are meeting in the activity room. It is on your left as you enter.

The program will be seasonal (Christmas) music presented by the Yuma Civic Light Orchestra. They will begin playing at 1800.
