Happy 70th Birthday to the United Yuma Firefighters! 🎉🚒

For 70 years, our members have proudly served the Yuma community—both on the emergency scene and beyond. Through generations of firefighters, we’ve remained committed to protecting our neighbors, supporting our community, and looking out for one another like family.

We are inviting all current and retired L1234 members to join us as we celebrate 70 years of service, brotherhood, and community at our 70th Anniversary Party.

United Yuma Firefighters President David Padilla Jr. recently spoke at the Yuma Tea Party meeting to highlight the urgent needs of Yuma’s firefighters. With rising response times, delays in apparatus manufacturing , and a growing demand for resources, especially on the east side of Yuma, our firefighters are feeling the strain.

To meet these needs, Yuma voters will be asked to approve an increase to the state-imposed expenditure limit in 2026. This limit, set by the Arizona Constitution, caps how much cities can spend each year, even if they have the revenue. Unless voters approve an adjustment, critical public safety services—including fire and EMS—will continue to face funding shortfalls.

Supporting the expenditure limit adjustment is key to ensuring Yuma’s firefighters have the tools, staffing, and support they need to protect our growing community.
