Great to see this coming together! 🌎 The Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Yuma Port Authority, and 4FrontED are hosting "The Future of North American Trade: USMCA & Yuma County's Economy" on September 2nd — a conversation that matters deeply for our whole region.

Yuma County is right at the center of one of the most important binational corridors in North America, and its economy is tied to what happens with trade across the line. Proud that 4FrontED's binational lens is part of the foundation of this discussion.

Ten years of crossing the border — together.

Preparations are underway for the 10th Mayors' International Bike Ride — a ride that links Yuma, Somerton, San Luis, and communities across Yuma County with our neighbors in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora.

Today we worked through the finish-line logistics with Jose Torres, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for San Luis Río Colorado — the city that hosts and organizes the ride's grand finale. Last year's arrival there was unforgettable (video) — and this year, the city promises an even bigger welcome. That says everything about the warmth of this neighborhood and the shared commitment to building the region, together.

A decade of pedaling across the line is no small thing. See you on Saturday, October 24, 2026. 🚲🇲🇽🇺🇸

Ya están en marcha los preparativos del 10.º Mayors' International Bike Ride, y hoy trabajamos la logística de la meta con José Torres, Director de Desarrollo Económico y Turismo de San Luis Río Colorado — la ciudad que recibe y organiza el gran cierre de la carrera.

La llegada del año pasado a San Luis Río Colorado fue inolvidable (video) — y este año, la ciudad promete un recibimiento aún mejor. Eso lo dice todo sobre la calidez de esta vecindad y la gran voluntad del ayuntamiento de SLRC para construir la región a nuestro lado.

Una década pedaleando a través de la línea no es cosa menor. Nos vemos el sábado 24 de octubre de 2026. 🚲🇲🇽🇺🇸

Congratulations to our Board Chairman, Mayor Douglas Nicholls, on his re-election. Building a binational education corridor — from Mexicali to Yuma.
This week, 4FrontED helped open the Future Border Summit 2026, the Instituto Tecnológico de Mexicali's third gathering on curricular transformation and global talent for the megaregion.
Our Executive Director, Dr. Remy Martínez-Cantú, delivered the summit's opening keynote — «Estudiar en la Frontera Correcta: IA, Espacio y las Nuevas Rutas Profesionales de la Megarregión» ("Studying at the Right Border: AI, Space, and the Megaregion's New Professional Paths") — framing the four working tables that followed: digital infrastructure, energy transition and mobility, human care and services, and regional development and sustainability.
We were honored to share the moment with:
• Dr. Manuel de Jesús López Pérez, Director, Instituto Tecnológico de Mexicali
• Rocío Vázquez Álvarez, Consul of Mexico in Calexico
• Guadalupe Acuña Álvarez, Head of the Educational Liaison Office, SEP Baja California
But this is only one side of the story. The natural counterpart to Mexicali's technical institutions sits right across the line, in Yuma. That is why 4FrontED is committed to bridging this work with Arizona Western College and our partners on the Arizona side — so that a shared talent pipeline runs in both directions.
As Baja California and Arizona cement their place in advanced manufacturing — from semiconductors to aerospace — the campuses that train our young people, on both sides of the border, are where the future of the megaregion is really being built.
We were also glad to carry an invitation the whole region can rally behind: the 10th Mayors' International Bike Ride, Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Yuma.
