Land for Wildlife Foundation

Land for Wildlife Foundation We are a nonprofit organization whose mission it is to protect and restore native land for wildlife through acquisition, management, education, and research.

The Land for Wildlife Foundation was created to ensure that land is preserved and protected for wildlife. Our goal is to acquire land through purchase and donation. We will work with other foundations and government agencies to create water catchments. These will give the animals access to water, even during dry seasons. This will also help to keep them from the canals where they often drown and o

ut of the fields that grow our food. Many of the government agencies and foundations that currently work with wildlife, have to solicit individual landowners for permission to use their land or they have to maintain any land that they themselves own. Maintaining their own land is something that becomes costly and time consuming, taking away from their other duties and responsibilities.es. We will also be working to create research and educational opportunities. The Land for Wildlife Foundation will work with these organizations to establish positive change for the wildlife and then continue to maintain and protect the land and structures. Members from Land for Wildlife and the Yuma County chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation assisted the Arizona Game and Fish Department with replacing a solar well pump that will provide water for wildlife within the Barry M. Goldwater Range.

This area is home to big game animals like pronghorn, mule deer, and bighorn sheep.

This solar pump runs continuously throughout the day filling the black tanks seen in the pictures. Once all tanks are full, the water then overflows and travels south. This flow of water will provide water for vegetation that will provide food and shade from the beaming sun.

This was just one of the projects slated for this area. The next project will consist of constructing a pond that will be filled with the flowing water from the solar pump. This will provide a good water source for wildlife to quench their thirst and maybe cool off by wading in the pond.

If anyone would like to volunteer or donate for future projects, please shoot us a message.

We’d love to hear from you!
