🚗IT'S STILL NATIONAL YOUTH TRAFFIC SAFETY MONTH☀️

As National Youth Traffic Safety Month comes to a close, it’s a good reminder that safe driving doesn’t take a summer break. Starting Jan. 1, 2027, Colorado teens will also have new education requirements to earn a learner’s permit, making safety and preparation more important than ever.

Additionally, the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer are here, when teen crash risks are at their highest. Teen fatalities in Colorado have climbed sharply, but parents can cut that risk in half by staying involved, setting clear expectations, and modeling safe habits. Buckle up every trip, avoid distractions, follow GDL laws, and never drive impaired. Colorado lost 49 teens in crashes last year, and distracted driving remains one of the top causes. A simple parent‑teen driving agreement can make a real difference.
