Wheelchair Accessible Garden Beds!

Thank you Dr Cullison for all you’re doing at FAJH at Yuma School District One. Thanks to the students whose work will allow all students the opportunity to be included in gardening - and not just stuck on the sidelines watching!

Thank you Arizona Building Supply Yuma Home Center - A Division of U.S. LBM , Dmf Living Soils and Liggett Electrical Services LLC for supplying all the materials to make these accessible garden beds so that students(and adults)who are wheelchair users can participate alongside others 💕

Today we dropped off switch adapted toys for children who may not otherwise get a toy they can play with at at Palmcroft Elementary, Somerton School District 11, Gadsden School District and DDD office. Tomorrow our final drop offs for Yuma Union High School Districts.

Oh what a beautiful day, Merry Christmas to ALL 🎄!

(Then the elves had lunch 🤤 No pics because we were hungry 😋 and we just ate it all up, yum!)

HOLIDAY PARKING REMINDER

With Christmas approaching faster than we can all imagine, shopping will become more of a priority in the upcoming week and so will the need to find good parking.

YPD Traffic Unit would like to remind everyone that parking in Handicap spots are reserved for those individuals who have registered handicap plates or placards.

Law Enforcement has the capability to check Handicap placards and the registration status of them. If you are using a family members placard and they are not with you, you are breaking the law. If you are observed or found doing this, you may receive a ticket and a fine.

Do the right thing, be courteous, and park accordingly so someone who truly needs the handicap parking can park in their reserved spaces.

Besides, while taking an extra 15-20 steps to and from the store from parking in a proper parking spot, and not breaking the law, think of all the extra gifts you can buy with the money you'd save from not receiving a ticket!

In the past two weeks the Traffic Unit has issued 10 citations for this violation alone.

Thank you so much Jason & Home Depot in Yuma for your generous donation!
Their donation included tool bags, misc tools and materials in order to start creating adapting kits.
We’ve had groups reach out wanting to help us adapt and this it will allow us to be able to more easily have them do so.
