Nassau County is steeped in the rich military history of Florida since it’s founding in 1824, and our country dating back hundreds of years. tinues, with the chartering of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1088, here in Nassau County and surrounding area. The Chapter, the 26th in the State of Florida, was presented with their Charter by VVA State Council President Ben Humphries. The charter President of the chapter is Dr. Gerald Burford, MD., and fellow Officers Charles Nobles as Vice President, Hugh McLean as Treasurer, Roger Allen as Secretary, and four Directors including Mr.Ron Noble. The chapter has been enthusiastically welcomed by the Nassau County community. Our continuing mission here is to generate government relations advocacy and veteran’s education, promote services and benefits referral information to Vietnam Veterans and their families, especially regarding Agent Orange (Dioxin) and PTSD( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) related issues, support POW-MIA families, issue self-help guides, information and hands on services, support homeless veterans, offer direct impact support for our community agencies and organizations and many other service projects. We love our veterans……. and would like “you” to be a part of a growing, vibrant and enthusiastic group of fellow Men and Women who are Vietnam Veterans or as a member of the Associate Vietnam Veterans of America. Our continuous goal is to give all our Vietnam Veterans and other era veterans the respect, the best assistance and information possible to “to keep and maintain our nation’s promises to our veterans”.
