Maybe this is the whole point.

It’s your garden.
You get to choose how it grows. 🌱

And we’re choosing slower mornings.
Dirty little hands.
Kids who lose track of time because they’re too busy being kids.

Less rushing them through childhood.
More places that make childhood feel big again.

That’s what we’re growing here.

And if you’ve been here awhile, you’re part of it too. šŸ¤

Not a playground. Not an indoor play place. šŸ‘€

A little children’s garden in Yucaipa where kids get dirty, feed goats, explore + just PLAY. 🌱

We’ve been here 16 years — and IE moms are still finding us for the first time.

Follow Yucaipa Children’s Garden | Kids Activities for the days you need to get them out of the house, off screens + into a childhood that feels a little more like yours. šŸ¤

Just a little reminder of why we’re here. 🌱

More dirt. More exploring. More time outside. More room to just be little.

The kind of childhood that doesn’t need much.

Welcome to GardenWorks. We’re really glad you’re here. šŸ¤

This is the whole point.

Not just crafts.
Not just activities.
Not just ā€œsomething to do.ā€

A childhood that feels slower.
Messier.
Sweeter.
More outside.

The kind we keep saying we want for them.

That’s what we’re building here šŸ«¶šŸ¼āœØ

I laughed at first because it seemed like such a small thing to say.

But I kept thinking about it after she left.

Because I think a lot of us are quietly wondering the same thing.

When did childhood get so complicated?

When did playing require reservations and time slots and activities and a trunk full of stuff?

When did we start feeling like we had to constantly do something with our kids?

Find the activity.
Pack the snacks.
Keep them entertained.
Make it educational.
Get them out of the house.
Get them off the screen.

And somehow make a childhood for them while we’re also trying to keep up with laundry, dinner, work, appointments and the 47 other things running through our heads.

She had been sitting there watching her kids for a while when she looked at me and said:

ā€œI forgot kids could still play like this.ā€

I understood exactly what she meant.

Because nobody had told them what to do.

There wasn’t a screen keeping their attention.

Nobody was rushing them to the next thing.

They were dirty. Completely absorbed in whatever little world they had created. Making friends with kids they hadn’t known an hour earlier.

And their mom?

She wasn’t entertaining anyone.

She was just sitting there.

Watching.

For once, she didn’t have to create the childhood memory.

She got to be there for it.

And maybe that’s the thing so many of us are actually craving.

Not more activities for our kids.

Not another place to take them.

Just somewhere childhood can happen without us working so hard to make it happen.

That’s what we want GardenWorks to feel like.

A place where they get to be little.

And you get to just be their mom. šŸ¤

A childhood like this. 🌱

A morning at the garden.
A popsicle.
A story.
Something simple to do.
And plenty of time to just play.

That’s really all a Pop-Up Play Day is. šŸ¤Ž

If you’ve been meaning to come spend a morning with us, we have 3 left in September:

September 16 • 3–6 PM
September 22 • 8–11 AM
September 30 • 8–11 AM

Not a playground. Not an indoor play place. šŸ‘€

We’re a 16-year-old children’s garden in Yucaipa where kids can get dirty, feed goats, dig, explore, create + just PLAY.

And somehow, so many Inland Empire moms still don’t know we’re here. 🌱

We share our pop-up play days, special events + little-kid adventures here — plus more of the best ways to get your kids outside and off screens in the IE.

Follow Yucaipa Children’s Garden | Kids Activities so the next ā€œwhat should we do with the kids?ā€ day is already handled. šŸ¤
