Sutter Buttes Regional Land Trust, in partnership with Sutter County Museum, are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Calendar Photographer’s Reception THIS Friday, August 28th, 2026 from 5-7pm! 🎉📸💕

Each year, SBRLT hosts our annual photography contest, and the winners are featured on our annual “Sutter Buttes Region” calendar! This evening is dedicated to honoring the photographers and showcasing these photographers’ amazing work to the public beyond our calendar.

Event Details
🗓️ When: August 28th, 2026 from 5 PM to 7 PM
📍Where: Sutter County Museum
🧾Calendars will be for sale!
🍪Light refreshments will be provided

Can’t make it? No worries! Sutter County Museum will be showcasing this exhibit until September 17th, so there will be plenty of time to see these beautiful photographs at your leisure!

The California Swan Festival is back - and you’re invited! 🦢💕

Join us from November 12-15, 2026 for an inspiring 4-day celebration of nature, community, and conservation, featuring guided tours throughout the Yuba-Sutter region, including the iconic Sutter Buttes! Mark your calendars and stay tuned for ticket details!

→ Explore up to 16 guided wildlife tours, ranging from hiking the Sutter Buttes to birding from your car!
→ Kick-Off Party at Montna Farms – featuring food, drinks, a silent auction, and a moving historical & cultural presentation with our honored guests, the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe.

But the Swan Festival is more than just a weekend getaway – it’s an event that makes an impact.

Applications for the 2026 BirdReturns – Late Summer Farmlands Habitat Program open soon! This program provides financial incentives for farmers and landowners in the Sacramento Valley and Delta to create temporary shallow-flooded habitat for migratory birds during the critical late summer/early fall period.



Application period: June 1- June 22 at 11:59pm (PST)
Program notification: July 20
Program Enrollment Period: August 3-October 2 (5-week commitment; 3 weeks of flooding, 2 weeks of evaporative drawdown)
How to Apply: Submit a one-page application form with a proposed price per acre and a field map.
