At FitQuest, we know mental wellness is a huge part of feeling healthy. When you start to feel overwhelmed, here is a quick way you can destress, distract yourself, and feel more grounded! Plus, this activity can be done anywhere, anytime.

Take a moment to yourself. Think to yourself:
What are 5 things you can see?
What are 4 things you can feel? Is it the ground beneath you, a little bit of wind, or the sun?
What are 3 things you can hear?
What about 2 things you can smell?
What is 1 thing you can taste?

Every summer, FitQuest holds Family Camp to provide a chance for students to bring their families to Shady Creek Outdoor School and learn about nutrition, mental wellness, and to enjoy the outdoors without the distractions of technology. This weekend is sponsored by Sutter Health to promote preventative healthcare.

Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation was lucky enough to work with Sutter Health to capture the magic of FitQuest Family Camp last summer, following the weekend's activities of hiking, cooking (and of course, eating!), swimming, enjoying Shady Creek's raptor center, and challenging themselves on the low-ropes and obstacle course. Most importantly, families are able to connect and get some quality time outdoors during this special weekend. Watch our video below to see some of the magic!
