Liberty Arts Gallery

Liberty Arts Gallery A non-profit contemporary art gallery featuring local and guest artists, community outreach, and educations programs.

Liberty Arts Mission and Vision

In 1985 a group of artists, writers, philosophers, and community members began informal meetings to discuss possible mutual activities, which would employ the arts to address social issues. The group became Liberty Painting Corporation, a 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit. The primary purpose of Liberty Painting Corporation, is reflected in the mission statement:

To serve a charitable and educational purpose by enriching the cultural heritage and communications among all peoples of the world through creations of works of fine arts and other art forms. The vision for Liberty Arts is to:

Exhibit works from a broad base of individuals and groups in our community, and to offer a venue to guest artists bringing new work and ideas to Siskiyou County

Provide educational outreach programs, workshop space and facilities for artists, students and community members

Broaden awareness of cultural achievements through performance and exhibition

Offer community events, which expand appreciation of cinematography, videography and photography through exhibition, lecture and informal discussion

Mixed Terrain is still seeing lots of visitors, especially through our educational program, EXPLORATIONS! Kids to teens are making artwork that break the rules of the traditional frame much as Stan Sours’ playful narratives that do just that. Anne McTavish’s oil paintings are creatively paired to excite gallery goers and creations in the studio.

We had a packed house at the opening reception on Friday the 5th and during Night of Lights the following evening, Libery Arts had over 60 visitors after hours that brought the total visitors for the day to 96 (and two dogs)! 🐶🐶

The studio was bustling too with around 200 ornaments made! We had requests for another opportunity to make more, so we are going to make that happen with an encore of ornament making this Saturday, December 13th from 12–3pm. 🎨🌟

Thank you to all our members and the wonderful community joining us in sharing our love of the arts. Also, our new brochures for 2026 are were delivered today so be sure to pick one up when you visit next.
