SNIP of Siskiyou County

SNIP of Siskiyou County The Siskiyou Spay Neuter Program (SNIP) is a non-profit all-volunteer only organization formed in 2002. Each program is funded by grants and donations.

We provide emergency rescue for cat and dogs, spay and neuter incentive for cats and dogs, & emergency evacuation center for the County. We would like to take a minute to update the community on what programs SNIP has to offer. We do not have paid staff, everyone is a volunteer, we do not have a monthly income source like the other non profit programs in the area, so funds are limited and we try

to spread it out to the most needy. PROGRAMS

#1 priority is still spay/neuter. Spay/neuter coupons available for low income family who need assistance financially with getting their dog or cat spayed/neutered. Please visit our website siskiyousnip.org for more information about what is offered for this program. Due to the over whelming need in the community and the already full shelters in Siskiyou County, SNIP added a few needed programs.

1. Emergency rescue for cats and dogs - intake depends on available fosters or space.

2. Housing of pets of domestic Violance while they seek help.

3. Boarding for cats and dogs -limited space available

4. Emergency evacuation center for SIskiyou County. If you have any questions regarding any of theses programs or want to volunteer Please reach out to by calling 5415311086. Venmo-

The Siskiyou Spay and Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of animals throughout Siskiyou County. Since its founding in 2002, SNIP has worked tirelessly to reduce pet overpopulation through education, low-cost spay and neuter programs, financial assistance, rescue efforts, and community support.

What makes SNIP special is that its mission extends beyond simply helping animals. The organization partners with local veterinary providers, including Essex Veterinary Services, to provide affordable access to essential veterinary care for families who might otherwise struggle to afford it. Through transportation programs, vouchers, clinics, and community outreach, SNIP helps ensure that responsible pet ownership remains accessible to everyone.

SNIP’s impact can be seen throughout the county. In addition to helping hundreds of animals find loving homes, the organization has facilitated spay and neuter services for more than a thousand pets, provided low-cost vaccinations and microchipping, assisted families facing financial hardship, supported victims of domestic violence by caring for their pets, and helped during emergency situations such as evacuations and disasters.

Powered largely by volunteers and community donations, SNIP demonstrates what can happen when compassionate people come together with a shared goal: creating a safer, healthier future for animals and the people who love them. Their work helps reduce shelter overcrowding, prevent unwanted litters, and give countless dogs and cats a better chance at a happy, healthy life.

Every spay, every neuter, every adoption, and every act of kindness contributes to a stronger community. Siskiyou SNIP continues to be a shining example of how local volunteers can make an extraordinary difference, one animal at a time. 🐾❤️
