Last weekend marked the 3rd annual PRIDE celebration in Siskiyou County! 🌈

I’ve been filming Redden Risqué since last year for an upcoming Shasta Stories episode about performers in a rural area. (Stay tuned….)

This drag show was graciously held at the Elks Lodge 1980 in Yreka. Who would have thought Yreka would be so supportive? I’ll tell you who had vision: Siskiyou OUTreach and their incredible team and performers. 👏

Basking in the love and playfulness of this group was soul-lifting. 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

Thank you! Redden Risqué Siskiyou OUTreach Trina Slay Ruhel Glitzwilliam Darcy J⚡️/Glitter e. Vortex✨ and others who’s tags I don’t know but I know your face! 🌈

WOW. What a day. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

From Pride in the Park, to the Shasta Stories documentary screening, to the drag show ,we were absolutely overwhelmed by the love, support, and community that showed up yesterday. 🥹🥳

To every person who attended, volunteered, performed, sponsored, donated, tabled, shared a post, brought a friend, or simply showed up to stand with us—thank you. Your support means more than we can adequately put into words. 💯

Despite a few protesters, our community showed exactly who we are. Their presence did not stop people from showing up, celebrating, learning, and supporting one another. We stood our ground, continued to create a welcoming and joyful space, and the event carried on exactly as it should have. In the end, our community remained strong, the celebration continued, and the protesters eventually left. What stood out most wasn't their presence—it was the overwhelming love, resilience, and support shown by everyone who attended. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Yesterday wasn't just an event—it was a celebration of community, visibility, resilience, and love. Seeing so many people laughing, learning, connecting, and supporting one another was truly incredible.💯

We have so many photos and memories to share in the coming days, but for now, we simply want to say THANK YOU. ❤️

If you took photos throughout the day, we'd love to see them! Feel free to share them in the comments or send them to us so we can help celebrate and preserve these memories.📸

And we'd love to hear from you: What was your favorite part of the day? 👇

Thank you for making Pride 2026 such a beautiful success. We couldn't do it without you. We will see you all soon !

🩸 World Blood Donor Day – June 14 🩸

Today, we honor the generosity of blood donors around the world—and we also recognize the deep, complex history this day holds for the LGBTQ+ community.
During the height of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s and '90s, fear and stigma led to policies that excluded many LGBTQ+ individuals—especially gay and bisexual men—from donating blood. While science and understanding have evolved, the legacy of those restrictions remains a painful reminder of the discrimination faced during a time of devastating loss.

But today, we also see hope:

🧬 Advances in medical testing
⚖️ Evolving policies
🌈 Growing awareness and inclusion

These changes are helping to rebuild trust, equity, and dignity in our healthcare systems. Blood donation is not just a medical act—it’s a statement of compassion, solidarity, and community care.

At Siskiyou Outreach, we stand with those who continue to fight for fair and inclusive access to donation. We honor those we lost, uplift those still fighting, and celebrate every step toward a more just future.

If you're eligible to donate, your blood could save a life. If you're not, your voice still matters—advocate, educate, and help break down stigma.

It’s going to be a gorgeous day today for Siskiyou Pride 2026!

🕯️ Remembering Pulse – June 12 🕯️

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting—a heartbreaking tragedy that took the lives of 49 innocent people, most of them LGBTQ+ and Latinx, in one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.
Pulse was more than a nightclub—it was a safe haven, a place of joy, love, music, and freedom for the LGBTQ+ community. On this day, we mourn the lives lost, stand with survivors, and recommit ourselves to building a world where everyone can live openly and safely.

Let this day be a reminder: Love is louder. Community is stronger. And we will never forget.
