Stable Hands is seeking a passionate, professional, and community-minded Executive Director to help lead and grow our adaptive riding program into its next chapter. This position is ideal for someone who believes in the mission, values strong leadership and accountability, and understands both the heart and business side of nonprofit work.
We are looking for someone who can help strengthen operations, support staff and volunteers, expand community involvement, increase fundraising efforts, improve organizational systems, and help move the organization forward in a positive and professional direction.
Position Type
Part-Time
Approximately 23 hours per week
(Flexible scheduling required for events, meetings, and program needs)
Compensation
Starting Pay: $30/hour
Approximate Hours Per Year: 1,200
Approximate Monthly Hours: 100
Estimated Annual Compensation: $36,000
Compensation may increase depending on experience, qualifications, nonprofit leadership background, fundraising success, certifications, and overall fit for the organization.
What Weāre Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit leadership, team management, fundraising, community engagement, organizational development, and operations. Experience with equine-assisted services, PATH Intl standards, volunteer-based organizations, or adaptive riding programs is highly valued.
This role requires someone who:
⢠Leads professionally and collaboratively
⢠Communicates effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, families, and the community
⢠Understands budgeting, fundraising, nonprofit operations, and organizational growth
⢠Is organized, proactive, and solution-oriented
⢠Can help improve systems, accountability, and program development
⢠Is comfortable representing Stable Hands publicly and building community relationships
⢠Values professionalism, kindness, teamwork, and mission-focused leadership
Preferred Qualifications
⢠Nonprofit leadership or management experience
⢠Experience with organizational growth, program development, fundraising, grants, sponsorships, or donor relations
⢠Experience strengthening systems, operations, and community engagement within a nonprofit or business setting
⢠Experience managing staff and volunteers
⢠Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
⢠Equine experience or familiarity with adaptive riding programs is a plus, but not required
⢠Willingness to learn PATH Intl standards and obtain certification if not already certified
⢠Valid driverās license and reliable transportation
Additional Information
While equine experience and familiarity with adaptive riding programs are highly valued, Stable Hands recognizes that strong leadership, nonprofit development, fundraising, business operations, and organizational growth experience are equally ā and potentially more ā important for this role. We are open to candidates with strong executive leadership backgrounds who are willing to learn the programmatic side of equine-assisted services.
