🌟 Pure Siskiyou Community Shoutout: Shauna Hinton 🌟

This week’s shoutout goes to Shauna Hinton, a true example of heart and commitment in the Shasta Valley.

Shauna continues to lead the Shasta View 4-H Club even though all of her own kids have aged out. This showcases her deep dedication to the next generation! She’s also a Beef Leader supporting 4-H groups outside of Scott Valley, making sure local youth have opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.

As a Shasta Valley Producer, Shauna goes above and beyond to help others. She’s always ready to share her knowledge, lend a hand, and uplift those around her. It’s hard to imagine how she finds the time, but her passion for community and agriculture shines through everything she does. 🌾

Thank you, Shauna, for all the ways you make Siskiyou County stronger.

Siskiyou County 4-H members represented well at the California Make it with Wool Competition. Congratulations to both Tinley and Alexis for earning honorable mentions in their age categories. Hailee was awarded the state winner award for the 13-16 age category and will represent California at the National Competition in January of 2026. Great job Siskiyou 4-H members.

Siskiyou County 4-H provides school enrichment programs in conjunction with Siskiyou County Cattlewomen. Thank you Etna Elementary for allowing us to share the heart dissection lab with your 5th grade students.

Siskiyou Hi 4-H members completed a service learning project with students of Gordon J Lau Elementary in San Francisco. 4-H members created mini lessons to teach the students about Agriculture and Animal Science.

Attention all Youth Livestock Exhibitors! Quality assurance training is needed each year if you plan on showing and selling livestock at the Siskiyou Golden Fair. We will be having an in-person YQCA training on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 4pm at the Montague Elementary School, Cafeteria.
