If you ever get a chance to sit down with your local ATC to compare notes, discuss common mistakes, and exchange pet peeves šŸ˜…ā€¦DO IT! We were lucky enough to share 3 hours with a KYIP manager and a controller at our meeting and the information was invaluable. A huge thank you to Chad and Jake and ABSOLUTELY stop by Willow Run on your next flight. They’d love to have you!

Hi! My name is Lily Pattee and I am the Treasurer of Women in Aviation Willow Run Riveters Chapter. I am currently a junior at EMU studying aviation management and flight training out of Livingston. Aviation is a relatively new passion of mine, forming two years ago when I changed majors from medicine to aviation management. My goal is to become a medevac pilot, working with hospitals and medical facilities to transport patients and medical personnel to where they are needed. It is the perfect job for combining my interests in both the medical field as well as aviation. I am incredibly excited to be a part of WAI and create valuable connections with my peers that will be of great value later in my career.

Hi, I’m Andrea and I am the Outreach Chairperson for the Willow Run Riveters Chapter of Women In Aviation. I am a student at Eastern Michigan University, working remotely to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management.
Ā
I’m a flight scheduler for BISSELL Aviation in Grand Rapids.
Ā
I became obsessed with aviation in my early 20s when a steamship collided with a cruiseliner overseas while I was working in logistics. The automotive parts I was tracking, fell to the bottom of the ocean. I was faced with arranging a charter airfreight shipment to keep the Ford Kentucky Truck plant from shutting down. I urgently learned about the Part 135 world, aviation weather, required runway lengths, aircraft speeds, and payloads. I couldn’t get enough! It was at that point that I decided that I wanted to be an aircraft dispatcher, hence my dispatch training. After working as an intern for Masco, then as a flight follower for Kalitta Charters II, and Corporate Eagle, I’ve realized that I prefer the Corporate aviation. It was my connections through WAI that I found these opportunities. My long term goal is to achieve a masters degree in Aviation Safety. Aviation will always be fascinating and fun to me. It’s ever changing and fast paced. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

Meet the Board pt. 4ļøāƒ£!

Hello! My name is Nicholas Cobb and I am the Recruitment Chair on the Willow Run Riveters Chapter Board. I always had a fascination with aviation and airplanes from a young age. I am a graduate of the EMU Aviation Program with hopes of becoming a professional pilot. I have had several exciting opportunities over the years including working with Republic Airways as a Brand Ambassador and even getting the chance to ferry an aircraft across the country! My current role is a Line Serviceman at Kalitta Charters where I help to fuel and launch jet aircraft. Had it not been for joining WAI, I would have not had the opportunity to not just serve in my roles, but excel in them thanks to the wonderful support network that we have been able to foster. The aviation community is a very small one so it is great to have become so connected to such fantastic like minded individuals that share a passion for this great profession. Stop on by a meeting anytime and see what we are all about!

Part 3ļøāƒ£, Meet Abby Richter, the Willow Run Riveters Secretary. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved airplanes. The house that I grew up in was close to the Big House( Michigan football stadium) and whenever they had a fly-over they would fly over our house. I remember always running outside to watch the stealth bomber or a jet flying over my house and being completely fascinated. I told my parents that one day I would be in the cockpit of that airplane flying over their house. Although I won't be flying a jet over my house, I do hope to one day fly corporate.Ā  Aviation is such an amazing Industry and career choice and I’m excited to learn so much more about what it could offer and the opportunities I will get to experience through Women In Aviation.

Hi there! My name is Morgan Butera and I am the Vice President of the Willow Run Riveters! I got into Aviation at a young age by flying with my grandparents who are both GA pilots. I am a graduate of EMU and have degrees in Aviation and Criminal Justice. Last summer, I had the opportunity to intern with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Investigating aircraft Accidents and Incidents. It was an amazing way to combine my love for both Aviation and Law Enforcement. I currently work at PSA Airlines as an SMS Safety Specialist. I would not have gotten to where I am today without networking. I have done most of my networking through Women in Aviation and have a blast doing it too! I would love to help you network and add to that little blue book of aviation contacts, so join us at a WAI WRR meeting and let’s connect!

My name is Olivia Tomlinson and I am the President of Women In Aviation Willow Run Riveters chapter. I joined WAI when I was a junior at EMU and am fortunate to lead this exceptional chapter while providing many networking opportunities for students. My favorite things about WAI are the strong friendships that are built, the networking opportunities, and the tours. I have always had a strong passion for aviation and am excited to be pursuing a career in aviation. Besides flying, a few things that I really love about the aviation field are the friendships with others that share my passion of flying and the ability to see the world from a different altitude!
