Khari Arnold, a Georgia father and lifelong book lover, created Library Dads to help Black fathers build stronger bonds with their children while promoting early literacy.

The program hosts 90-minute sessions at Wolf Creek Library centered on play, shared reading, and peer support — all rooted in the pillars of bonding, books, and brotherhood.

As literacy rates among Black children decline, Library Dads is expanding across Metro-Atlanta, offering fathers a joyful and empowering way to nurture both their kids and their communities.

The executive order attempting to dismantle the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)—the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services—puts statewide services like MeL & MeLCat at risk. MeL.org: Michigan eLibrary provides all Michigan residents with free online access to full-text articles, full-text books, valuable research, and much more. MeLCat is the statewide catalog that allows patrons from participating libraries to borrow materials from libraries all over Michigan.

You can visit http://bit.ly/ProtectLibraryFunding to tell your representatives how the order to eliminate the IMLS could impact you and your community.

🌱 PARENTING WITH UNDERSTANDING: A CLASS FOR GROWTH & CONNECTION

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parenting is a journey of love, learning, and listening. But too often, our children struggle in silence because we, as parents, don’t fully understand their needs.

💔 The truth is, kids are hurting. Some are even dying—because they feel unheard, unseen, and unsupported.

📢 Join us for a powerful, judgment-free parenting class designed to help us:
✅ Learn how to truly listen to our children.
✅ Build deeper, more compassionate connections.
✅ Understand the unique challenges our kids face today.
✅ Create a home where every child feels safe, loved, and valued.

This class is for parents who want to grow, who want to support their children, and who believe that love should be the foundation of every conversation.

Let’s come together, not to judge, but to learn how to be the parents our children need. Because at the end of the day, love is what saves lives. ❤️
