YNLL OPENING DAY — THANK YOU!

What a day! Yesterday was everything we love about this league — our community showing up and knocking it out of the park despite having so much stacked against us before the season even started, including Mother Nature throwing a wrench in our plans with torrential rain the day before. But as always, the YNLL community stepped up to the plate and delivered.

A HUGE thank you to:

✅ Our incredible board members and coaches who were out at the fields at 8AM getting everything dried out and ready for play

✅ All the families that came out to cheer on their players and their teams, as well as supporting the league

✅ Bethel United Church of Christ for beautifully singing the national anthem, Rev. Walker Harris for delivering our preseason blessing, and Stewart Beal for throwing the ceremonial first pitch — you all helped set the perfect tone for an incredible Opening Day and it meant so much!

* ALL games are on today as scheduled*

Tonight's rain has us watching our fields very closely. We'll be out early tomorrow morning to check on the conditions of the fields. We hope the overnight hours give the fields a chance to drain the standing water and dry out a little bit. We will work diligently to get the fields ready to play if at all possible.

We know everyone is excited for Opening Day — trust us, so are we! A decision will be made tomorrow morning once we see what we're working with.

❤️ A huge THANK YOU to our amazing community! ❤️

As many of you may have seen in the news, our fields at Harris Park were vandalized over the winter and we've been working hard to get everything cleaned up before Opening Day tomorrow!

We are so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support, and we want to take a moment to recognize the people who made it happen:

🎨 Thank you to Tod Nunley, a local painter who grew up right here playing baseball at Harris Park. He stepped up without hesitation and gave back to the community that shaped him. We are beyond grateful for your time, your talent, and your heart!

🏪 A very special thank you to Kathlynn at Ypsilanti Ace Hardware and Anderson Paint Company in Ann Arbor for generously donating the paint and primer that made this project possible. These two incredible local businesses went above and beyond for our kids and our community — and they deserve to be recognized!

The gang graffiti is covered and the vandalism is mostly cleaned up. We still have a little bit of painting and a few small projects left to complete next week, but that won't stop us from having an amazing Opening Day tomorrow!

Next week we'll refocus, finish the painting, and complete the remaining projects with the help of Brad and his crew at Angle Construction. We also want to recognize the unwavering support of Meadows Lawn and Trim for their dedication to maintaining our fields and keeping them in top shape all season long — we couldn't do it without you!

OPENING DAY — Ypsilanti National Little League | Saturday, April 25th!

We are SO excited to kick off the 2026 spring season! Here's what's on deck:

Activities & Food:

🏀 Bounce House — 11 AM to 4 PM

☕ Travelin' Tom's Coffee — 10 AM to 3 PM

🍧 Kona Ice — 10 AM to 3 PM

🧢 Used Equipment Table — By the concession stand pavilion. Bring gear you no longer need, or grab something for a $5 donation to YNLL — going directly toward future scholarships for players in need!

🎙️ Opening Ceremony — 12:30 PM at Arrwood Field, Harris Road Fields

Players, meet up with your team and wait to be called onto the field! We'll be joined by the Bethel United Church of Christ singing the national and hear a special message from Reverend Walker Harris.

A Note to Our YNLL Families:
Remember — this is a game! Let's keep it fun and positive for everyone. Many of our umpires are new or young adults stepping into their very first job — please treat them with patience and respect. Let the coaches coach, cheer everyone on regardless of the team, and let's show what makes our YNLL community so special. We are all in this together!

Parking:
Use the main parking lot or the road around Arrwood by Allen Field. Do not block driveways on Harris Road. Please obey all No Parking signs near the gates and concession stand — these are for emergency access and player safety. Please note this is not a through road.

The area beyond the concession stand and restrooms is closed to all vehicles. Reserved for the bounce house and food trucks only. Please do not drive past the barricades. Thank you!
