🏳️‍🌈Pride Month is a time to celebrate authenticity, resilience, and the right for every person to be seen, valued, and supported for who they are.

At Our House, we recognize that many young people experience life through multiple identities and lived experiences. For LGBTQIA+ youth involved in foster care, these intersections can create unique challenges. Research consistently shows that LGBTQIA+ youth are disproportionately represented in foster care and often face higher rates of housing instability, family rejection, discrimination, and mental health concerns.

These realities highlight the importance of creating affirming communities where young people can thrive. Every youth deserves safe housing, supportive relationships, access to resources, and the opportunity to build a future where they can live authentically.

Pride Month reminds us that support goes beyond acceptance. It requires action. By providing mentorship, life skills education, community connection, and stable housing opportunities, we work to ensure that youth with foster care experience have the tools and support they need to succeed.

This month, and every month, we stand alongside LGBTQIA+ youth and celebrate the strength, diversity, and contributions they bring to our communities.

Right now, young people in our housing programs are working every day to build a life they can be proud of. They are learning how to manage a home, raise children, create stability, and become independent — often without the family support many of us rely on.

When they arrive, many are starting from scratch.

Something as simple as pillows, cookware, cleaning supplies, diapers, or laundry detergent can mean the difference between surviving and feeling safe, comfortable, and cared for.

We never want a young person to feel alone while trying to rebuild their life.

What an incredible night at our 2nd Annual Game & Golf Fundraiser this past Friday! We’re so grateful to everyone who came out, supported, and helped make the evening such a success. These moments truly remind us how strong our community is.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who make everything possible—at home, at work, and everywhere in between. 💐

At Our House, we’re especially grateful for the strength, resilience, and care that mothers and mother figures bring into our lives and our communities. Today is a reminder to pause, show appreciation, and recognize the countless ways they shape who we are.

Our housing programs, The Nest & The Jenkins Family Program, focus on helping pregnant and parenting youth build independence, confidence, and parenting skills while offering guidance, resources, and encouragement to navigate daily life and future goals with a growth mindset.

To all the moms, grandmothers, mentors, and caregivers—thank you for everything you do. We see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you.

Today’s 2nd Saturday Life Skills Event was all about Workplace Readiness! 💼✨

A huge thank you to Mentor Matt for coming in and leading such an impactful class. His passion for helping others prepare for interviews, secure jobs, and understand HR laws truly inspired everyone in attendance. We appreciate the knowledge, encouragement, and real-world guidance he shared with our group today!
