What a great way to end our Friday!

We had a blast at Mitchell Elementary’s Ice Cream Social connecting with families, meeting new friends, and watching the Sensory Trailer turn into a fun-filled hangout space. There was so much to do, so many smiles, and such a wonderful sense of community throughout the evening.

A special thank you to the Mitchell Elementary PTO for the invitation. We loved being part of this event and look forward to many more opportunities to support local schools, students, and families.

Such a fun afternoon with some of our homeschool co op kiddos at Quirk Park! ☀️💦

The kids had an awesome time at the splash pad and playground, we met some wonderful families, and it just made us even more excited for summertime and all the fun still ahead. 💛

Today our Messy Middle Co-op is hanging out at Quirk Park in Van Buren Township and, as always, the Feed the Need Sensory Zone trailer came with us. ☀️

While we’re here, the trailer is open and available to anyone visiting the park who may need a quiet reset space, sensory support, a cool down break, or just a moment to regulate in the air conditioning.

Huge shout out to Van Buren Township for such a beautiful community space for families and kids to enjoy.

If you see the trailer while you’re at the park today, you are absolutely welcome to stop by and utilize the space. 💙

Looking forward to a great time with the Co-op Crew!

Ending the school year with sunshine, splash pads, laughter, and community ☀️💦

Our Messy Middle Homeschool Co-op is getting together for a fun Water Play Day & Picnic at Quirk Park, and honestly, we couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up such a meaningful year.

This was our very first year of the co-op, and what an incredible journey it has been. This year brought growth, friendships, learning, support, and so many moments that reminded us why community matters so much. Grateful for every family that has been part of this journey with us. 💚

We are SO excited to launch our Summer Ride & Roll Pop Ups on Tuesdays this summer! ☀️🚲💜

This is something we’ve really been looking forward to as we continue expanding opportunities for movement, connection, and intentional inclusion within our community.

Bring your bikes, scooters, adaptive mobility equipment, and wheels, and come roll with us! We’ll also have some equipment available to share throughout the summer so everyone can join in on the fun.

Dates and locations dropping soon. Stay tuned!

Some partnerships just naturally feel aligned, and that’s exactly how we feel about Ashley Tibbs of Turning Pages SLP.

While some of our bigger plans this year were paused, we’ve truly appreciated the time Ashley spent connecting with our co-op community. From sharing knowledge to simply showing up and pouring into conversations, every visit brought something meaningful. And of course, Baby Dani became part of the fun too. ❤️

What stands out most is how genuine this connection has been. Ashley’s passion, creativity, advocacy, and authentic care for others have been refreshing and inspiring to witness.

We’re grateful for her willingness to collaborate and be part of our village, and we look forward to staying connected moving forward.

If you haven’t connected with Turning Pages SLP yet, we encourage you to check her out. Good people doing meaningful work matter. 💙

Just sharing a little behind the scenes reality of running Feed the Need Sensory Zone.

People often see the trailer, the events, the smiles, and the impact. What they may not see is everything that happens afterward. The cleaning. The repairs. Replacing sensory tools and supplies. Restoring the space so it’s ready to safely serve the next family, school, church, or community event.

Truthfully, most events leave us operating at a loss financially. Maybe that’s not the best business model, but when you truly care about making inclusion and accessibility possible for families, it becomes hard to put profit before people.

We love this work, and we fully intend to keep showing up for this community. But sustaining and growing this organization takes support.

If you’d like to support Feed the Need Sensory Zone through donations, sponsorships, or purchasing from our wishlist, please visit us at www.feedtheneedsensoryzone.org.

Every act of support helps us continue creating spaces where individuals and families feel safe, included, and supported.
