Ypsi Thrift Shop The official page of Ypsilanti Thrift Shop, an all-volunteer, registered 501(c)3 thrift store. DONATIONS ACCEPTED ON TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS, AND SATURDAYS.

Founded as a "permanent rummage sale" in 1942, the shop gives anywhere from $60,000 to more than $70,000 a year to local charities—directly with substantial regular monthly donations; via grants for emergency needs made through social workers; and through vouchers that allow charitable organizations to send people in need to the shop to “purchase” items at no cost. Three major charities—Ypsilanti

Meals on Wheels, Hope Clinic, and Friends In Deed—receive $6000 a year in regular monthly installments. We sell gently used, and often brand-new, donated items—toiletries and jewelry, clothing and accessories for women, men, children, and babies, and all manner of household goods, from small appliances to dishes and linens, cookware, decorative and holiday items, craft and sewing and knitting supplies, books, CDs, toys, and games. Our shop looks small from the outside, but we go back a long way—in terms of both square footage and our long history as part of the Ypsilanti community, 80 years and counting.
