YSUnity Youngstown State University's only LGBTQIA support group. YSUnity is the only LGBTQIA+ group at Youngstown State University.

If you’re in the Northeastern section of Ohio and want to be part of a totally inclusive LGBTQIA+ nonprofit organization, get ready for the new and improved YSUnity! It is run by open minded college students from all sides of the rainbow spectrum. We strive to create a safe and fun environment on campus where anyone and everyone can be themselves. But due to recent realizations that the lettering

of LGBT+ can accidentally exclude orientations or identities, we have decided to move forward as a group. We did not want a long abundance of lettering; however, we still wanted to be inclusive to ALL. So we have decided to open up the new chapter of SOGIE. SOGIE stands for Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression. With this new chapter upon us, we truly feel that we stand by our original motto of, “where everyone can be themselves.”
With these 5 letters, we aim to showcase that literally everyone and anyone can come to our group and be accepted. We are YSUnity: SOGIE Society, and here is a list of a few things we do at Youngstown State University:
drag shows, picnics, HIV awareness and testing, Bisexual Awareness, Pansexual Awareness, Asexual Awareness, Intersex Visibility, Transgender Day of Rememberance, Day of Silence, bake sales, Safe Sex Awareness campaigns, Suicide Awareness Walks, panels and discussions, marriage rallies, Toys for Tots Drives, National Coming Out Day (often turning this day into a weeklong celebration), and so much more!

In honor of 'National Coming Out Day', Full Spectrum has teamed up with Westside Bowl, in a joint effort to create a safe, supportive and loving environment in which to come out to your friends, family and loved ones!

Our goal is to provide a neutral ground, moral and emotional support and a celebratory environment!

Have you been thinking about coming out to your family this National Coming Out Day? Bring them bowling, enjoy some of our pizza and beverages together and rest assured knowing you will be surrounded by supporters who are there to help you through this milestone!

Westside bowl is a fair minded, open and inclusive environment. Our staff will be on hand, ready to support you, if your coming out goes well or not.

We will also have volunteers on hand, should you find yourself lost for words, fearful, jubilant or hurting.

You are not alone! You are safe, you are loved, and congratulations on planning to make this huge step in your life!

DEADLINE APPROACHING SOON!
Victory Institute brings outstanding LGBTQ college students to Washington, DC, for an 8- or 10-week intensive leadership program, including an internship with an LGBTQ-friendly member of Congress. This is a paid opportunity and includes a stipend, housing in DC, travel to/from DC, as well as travel and registration to the International LGBTQ Leaders Conference in December 2022. The internship is open to current undergraduate students of all genders, orientations, abilities, races, and political affiliations, including people with majors other than political science. If you’re interested in public service, building your leadership skills, and working on advocacy, this is the internship for you!
