Perry & Phifer House of Commencement was founded in 2020 to support women coming home after doing time especially those released from long-term incarceration. While there are plenty of reentry programs out here for men, there’s a major gap when it comes to women. That’s where we step in.

We’re here to help our sisters transition back into society with dignity, purpose, and the tools they need to succeed. We also serve men we don’t turn anyone away but our mission is centered on building more rehab and recovery spaces for women that include real-life skills and financial literacy training.

If you or someone you love is coming home and didn’t get what they needed from a halfway house, reach out to us. We help with goal planning, getting your driver’s license, life insurance, setting up doctor appointments, and more. We don’t just talk about reentry we walk with you through it.

We are excited to announce that Perry & Phifer House of Commencement is now enrolling individuals in the Section 8 Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority voucher program. Our nonprofit is dedicated to supporting successful reentry for individuals transitioning from incarceration, providing the tools and resources needed to rebuild their lives.

We assist with:
• Goal planning and job searches
• Behavioral and parenting skills
• Educational development
• Financial stability
• Residential housing assistance

While we primarily focus on helping women, our doors are open to men as well. Applications for new clients are now being accepted. Let us help you create a better future after release.

This new facility, which has been months in the making, will serve as a central hub for our vital programs and initiatives.

Located in the heart of our community, this headquarters will house a state-of-the-art boardroom, a fully equipped food pantry, a community kitchen, administrative offices, and a versatile event space available for community rental. These spaces are not just physical structures but symbols of our unwavering dedication to providing resources, support, and opportunities to those who need them most.

The acquisition of this space is a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and shared vision of everyone involved in The Persayus Way Project. It represents more than just a new building; it embodies our belief in creating a strong, self-sustaining community where every individual has the chance to thrive.

We are profoundly grateful to God for guiding us through this journey. His mighty hand has been evident in every step we’ve taken, and we remain deeply committed to fulfilling the mission He has placed before us.
