Brasstown Big Band

Brasstown Big Band The Brasstown Big Band is a semi-pro Jazz Band based in Young Harris Ga. The band is made up of members from North Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee.

This page is intended to inform the public about the Brasstown Big Band. Our members come from all professions including: free-lance performers, music education, general education, engineering, retail, and the ministry. Several of our members are retired school band directors and college professors. The Brasstown Big Band is a non-profit organization dedicated to performing jazz music for the enjo

yment of our audiences. The Brasstown Big Band was established in 2008 by a community outreach effort of Young Harris College when instrumental music became a part of the Music Department. The first director of the BBB was Dr. Benny Ferguson who was the Dean of Fine Arts and Director of Bands. He was succeeded by YHC Music Faculty member, Dr. Michael Campbell. In 2013, Kerry Rittenhouse, also a YHC Music Faculty member, was asked to take over as director for the BBB.
