Kimberly Sherlaw, Director of Community Giving for EDMARC talked to the club tonight. Although, the club is aware of EDMARC in general (due to our annual EDMARC event), it was nice to hear about some of the support and activity details that many were not aware of.

The Yorktown Rotary Club held its spring "Vets Fishing" event last Wednesday. This twice a year event, brings disabled veterans out for a day of fishing, lunch, and comradery. We had issues getting a boat for the event this year, but all had a great time fishing from the pier.

The Memorial Field was set up again this year. It honors people from York County that have died in the Service of our country over the past 250 + years.

Wayne Drewry from the York County Board of Supervisors talked to the club tonight. He mostly answered questions from the members. New businesses, taxes, business advocate, and other topics. A good update.

WE DID IT AGAIN! Thanks to everyone who helped fill 100 toiletry bags for hospice and Medicaid residents in nursing homes thorough out York County. This marks the 3rd year we’ve assisted the Social Services in their quest to help our neighbors.

Thanks to Amy Heavner and Donna Davis for filling the bags and delivering them. Support from Riverside was great, thanks for helping.

York County Supervisor Sheila Noll talked to the club tonight. She primarily talked about the budget for this coming year, the process, the thinking, and the activities that went into it. We can agree or disagree with it, regardless it is very useful information to understand how it was made. Thanks.

Congressman Rob Wittman spoke to the club last night. He talked about various bills and issues he's been working in DC and then answered many questions. It is always great to hear from the Congressman, and we appreciate his candor.
