A few things I have learned in almost seven decades:
* things change
* your memory of someone and your connection with them is not necessarily the same memory for them
* there is always someone smarter than you are, better looking than you are and it doesn’t matter anyway
* you are not irreplaceable
* choose your own critics
* hard work always pays off
* it is ok to rest
* the satisfaction of being trustworthy is one of the greatest feelings you can have
* identity is found in who we are in Christ and who we were created to be. Not our degree, title, job description, or who we create ourselves to be
* at the end of your life you will be able to count your true friends on one hand
* Never cheat your stomach.....eat well
* You can’t live above your means without great heartache....have no debt, pay for what you need and want with cash no credit at every opportunity
* Only buy the best if you can, especially clothes, shoes and linens
* Needs and wants are opposites
* when wrinkles come, they are not going away
* As you age you are viewed differently by many, age gracefully
* Listen more than you talk, two ears, one mouth....
* Jesus is the Son of God and He IS coming back....be ready by accepting Him as Savior and Lord of your life
