Did you know HLS provides abortion pill reversal (APR)?

Medication (or chemical) abortions are the most common form of abortion today. The abortion pill is readily available by mail in all 50 states. Medication abortion is FDA approved up to 10 weeks gestation. By this stage of pregnancy, the baby is about 1.5 inches long, most organs are formed, and the heart has already been beating for nearly 5 weeks!

Abortion pill reversal (APR) works by flooding the mother’s body with the naturally occurring progesterone hormone which outcompetes the receptor block caused by mifepristone.

APR works best if initiated within the first 24-72 hours of taking the first pill (mifepristone) and must be started before the second medication (misoprostol) is taken.

Sometimes, it is the follow-up that makes all the difference…

When Benita, a teenager, discovered she was pregnant, she was scared and unsure of what to do. The baby's father was not supportive, but her mother remembered the loving care she had received as a former HLS client and brought Benita to us.

Their appointment included honest conversations and difficult emotions. Benita left with questions, but she decided to take more time before making a final decision. When she did not schedule another appointment, our team reached out. That simple follow-up call became a turning point.

Today, Benita is the proud mother of a beautiful baby. She participates in our Care Program, earns Baby Bucks through parenting education and shops for essentials in our boutique. Most importantly, she is embracing motherhood with love and confidence.

Compassion does not end with the first appointment. Sometimes, it continues with a simple phone call.

Today, on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we hold close every mother, father and family grieving a baby they were not able to bring home or watch grow.

Your child's life matters. Your grief matters. And even in the deepest sorrow, you are seen and held by God.

We pray for comfort, strength and peace for every family carrying this loss.
