LEAVE A LEGACY York County, a program of the York County Bar Foundation, is a partnership of civic-minded volunteers, professional advisors and nonprofit organizations that works to strengthen the York community by promoting charitable giving. LEAVE A LEGACY (LAL) York County was established in 1999 by a coalition of attorneys, trust officers,
accountants, insurance agents, planners and non-profit

development officers who wanted to bring awareness
of charitable planned giving to York County. Our mission statement is as follows:
LEAVE A LEGACY York County, a partnership of civic-minded volunteers, professional advisors and nonprofit
organizations, strengthens the York County community by promoting charitable giving. We accomplish this by:
• assisting York County nonprofit organizations to develop the capacity to promote bequests and
other planned gifts;
• encouraging York County professional advisors to include charitable giving in the estate planning
process; and
• promoting planned giving directly to the public

Yesterday, we had a great luncheon at the York College Center for Community Engagement about Legacy Giving, Voice from the Field. Our speakers were Shelley Candy of Community Connections for Children, Cheryl Yerger of Affordable Housing Advocates and Jenny Englerth of Family First Health. The event was moderated by Ron Unger of Kocman Insurance Group.

Trivia, networking, and pizza, oh my! Last week, members of our Estate Planning Council and Leave A Legacy memberships teamed up for our annual joint mixer, and it was a blast. From laughs over local trivia to meaningful connections with fellow professionals, it was an evening full of great conversation and community spirit.
