🌟 We’re Honored! 🌟

York Fresh Food Farms is proud to receive the 2026 Rita Patz Good Neighbor Award from Bell Socialization Services! 💚

This recognition is a meaningful reminder of why we do what we do: to strengthen our community, improve access to fresh, healthy food, and make a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors.

At York Fresh Food Farms, we believe everyone deserves access to fresh, locally grown produce, regardless of their income or zip code. Through our urban farming, mobile produce markets, and community partnerships, we’re working every day to make that vision a reality. 🥕🌱🍅

We are also deeply grateful to the York County Community Foundation for providing the FarmWorks Employment Initiative Grant, which supports our commitment to creating opportunities through agriculture, workforce development, and meaningful community engagement. This investment helps us grow not only fresh food, but also skills, experience, and opportunities that strengthen our community.

A heartfelt thank-you to Bell Socialization Services, Inc. for this wonderful honor and to the York County Community Foundation for investing in our mission. We are equally grateful to our dedicated staff, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who make this work possible.

Together, we’re growing more than food—we’re growing opportunity, building connections, and cultivating a healthier, stronger community! 💚🌿

Unfortunately, no market today due to the weather! We'll be back to our regular schedule this week at our mobile locations and Central Market with fresh, delicious locally grown produce!

Due to the remnants of Hurricane Isaias moving through our area this weekend, this Sunday's Second Sunday on King Market (October 11) has been cancelled. Forecasts call for periods of high winds and heavy rain, and the safety of our vendors, shoppers, and volunteers has to come first.

We'll see you at our next Market on Nov 8th!!!

This Week’s FarmShare Highlight: Bok Choy!

Crisp, tender, and delicious, bok choy is a nutritious leafy green that’s easy to prepare and full of flavor. Add it to stir-fries, soups, noodle dishes, or enjoy it simply sautéed.

🍳 Easy Garlic Ginger Bok Choy

Ingredients:

1–2 heads bok choy, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tbsp olive or sesame oil

1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add garlic and ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds.

Add bok choy and cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the stems are tender-crisp and the leaves are wilted.

Drizzle with soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve warm!

💚 Why eat bok choy?
Bok choy is naturally low in calories and provides vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin A, folate, calcium, and potassium. It also contains antioxidants and fiber to support a balanced diet..
