🌱 Learning, Growing, and Trusting God

Precious has never gardened before, but she has a desire to learn. This year, she was given the opportunity to use a couple of plots in the community garden and is excited to try her hand at growing tomatoes, peppers, and other vegetables.

One of the beautiful things about our discipleship program at Hope Gospel Rescue Mission is watching women step out and learn new things. Whether it’s developing a new skill, building confidence, creating healthy habits, or growing in their faith, every step forward is a victory.

Precious is embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We love seeing her try something new and discover the joy that comes from planting, nurturing, and watching things grow.

That’s what it’s all about at Hope Gospel Rescue Mission—growth, learning, healing, and allowing God to continue His work in our lives.

For anyone trying to start over, the weight of past hardships can make it feel impossible to break out of survival mode. When you are constantly worrying about your basic needs, preparing for a job feels out of reach. It's more than clean clothes and shoes it's a restoration of dignity, a surge of self-confidence, and the vital motivation needed to step forward.
Our Clothing Barn bridges this gap by providing free apparel and footwear to anyone in need, ensuring financial barriers never block the path to success. We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our community who donates items—your generosity makes these transformations possible every single day.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedom. Their sacrifice is a debt we can never fully repay. As we honor the fallen, we are also reminded of our sacred duty to the living.
Tragically, many who wore our nation's uniform return home to face a different kind of battle—homelessness, trauma, and isolation. Veterans are disproportionately affected by homelessness, often struggling to find the support they deserve after serving our country.
At Hope Gospel Rescue Mission, we believe no veteran should ever be without a place to call home. Through your support, we provide our local heroes with warm meals, safe shelter, the hope of the gospel through chapel services, and help building paths to long-term stability and healing.
Today, let’s honor the memories of our fallen heroes by caring for the brothers and sisters they left behind.

🚪❤️ Two years ago today, we officially reopened as the Hope Gospel Rescue Mission!
The shut down in April of 2024, looked like the end for the Gospel Rescue Mission, however our God was not done and our community didn't accept defeat. Our community knew the impact was too great, and the need was only increasing. Today, we are celebrating 24 months of:
✨ Renewed hope for the hurting
✨ Wrapping our neighbors in love,
✨ Sharing the Gospel daily
✨ Motivating people to make positive lifestyle changes
We didn't just survive; together, we thrived. Thank you for proving that when we stand together, hope wins!

At Hope Gospel Rescue Mission, we see firsthand that the "family" is often the first thing broken by life’s storms—and the most beautiful thing restored by God’s grace. 🕊️🏠
This International Day of Families, we are reflecting on Galatians 6:2: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
When a family comes through our doors, they are often carrying burdens too heavy for any one person to hold: the weight of empty cupboards, the fear of having no place to sleep, or the ache of estrangement.
But we believe that in Christ, no family has to walk the road of recovery alone.
We aren't just providing a meal or a bed; we are inviting them into a new family—the household of God—where burdens are shared and hope is rebuilt.
How can you help bear the burden today?
🤝 Volunteer to help sort donations or lead chapel.
🎒 Donate to help us stock our pantry so a mom doesn't have to choose between rent and dinner.
🙏Pray for the restoration of families separated by crisis.
The "Law of Christ" is simple: Love. Let’s show our city’s most vulnerable families that they belong to a community that won't let them fall.

Love Has a Name

This beautiful picture hangs in the hallway of Hope Gospel Rescue Mission as a quiet reminder of who we are called to be.

With outstretched hands, it reflects the heart of Jesus—welcoming, loving, serving, and reaching toward those who are hurting, weary, and searching for hope.

Every day, people walk through our doors carrying heavy burdens. Some come broken, afraid, lonely, or unsure where to turn next. Our prayer is that they would not only receive help, but that they would experience the love of Christ through the people around them.

Love has a name.

It is shown in a warm meal, a listening ear, a ride to an appointment, a late-night phone call, a prayer, encouragement, accountability, and simply taking the time to care.

We want to be His hands.
His voice.
His feet.
To everyone we meet.

May this picture continue to remind us that ministry is not just about meeting physical needs—it is about reflecting the heart of Jesus in the way we love and serve others each day.
