A memorial to Harold Dewey "Bud" Pressel, Jr.

Harold Dewey “Bud” Pressel Jr., 101 of York, Pennsylvania, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2026. A proud veteran of World War II, Bud served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, flying as a tail gunner aboard a B-24 Liberator out of Italy. His aircraft was shot down during combat, and he spent the remainder of the war as a POW, primarily in Germany. Bud rarely spoke about his wartime experiences until he retired, and even then, he shared them only to help others understand the hardships of war-and how he wished no one would ever have to endure what he did. His humility was as striking as his courage. In 2025, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, a long-overdue recognition of his sacrifice. A product of the world’s greatest generation, Bud returned home to enjoy a long and loving marriage to Grace Pressel, raising a family, and after a successful career marked by reliability, craftsmanship, and respect from those who worked alongside him, retired in 1989. Bud honored York County and its veterans; serving as the Grand Marshal of the 8th Annual York County Benefit Custom Car and Bike Show, which raised more than $112,000. His service to his country and his indomitable spirit will be long missed.

We’re excited to announce that Live Music is returning to this year’s show with the JC Fisher Band — and if you were here last time, you already know they were a huge hit! 🙌

The JC Fisher Band brings an eclectic mix of rock, country, blues, Motown, and folk, delivering something for everyone and keeping the energy going all day long. 🎸🎤

They helped make our event unforgettable before, and we can’t wait to have them back to do it again!

🧵❤️ Kicking Off Our 2026 Benefit Car Show with Something Truly Special ❤️🧵

We’re excited to start ramping up our Facebook for the 2026 Annual Benefit Car Show, and we couldn’t ask for a better first spotlight than this.

This year’s Live Auction will feature two absolutely beautiful, handmade quilts generously donated by Jim and Sue Frigm.

Jim is a Vietnam Veteran and graciously donated a quilt to our event last year as well. This year, his wife Sue created a stunning t-shirt quilt that is truly out of this world — the design, the detail, and the heart behind it are incredible. ❤️

A special touch: Sue specifically requested that the YCVO t-shirt be placed in the center of the quilt, making this piece even more meaningful and one-of-a-kind.

These quilts aren’t just beautiful — they tell a story of service, generosity, and community, and we are so grateful to Jim and Sue for their continued support of this event and our mission. 🇺🇸

On behalf of our Annual Benefit Car & Bike Show Committee we wish to thank the Sponsors, Companies, Volunteers, Attendees, and the many other individuals that assist making this the one of the largest annual fundraisers benefiting our York County Veterans. This is the 5th year in a row we have exceeded the previous year's monetary donation, and 2nd year in a row eclipsing over $100,000.

With that, we are extremely proud to announce that our 2025 benefit show resulted in giving over $112,000 to our local non-profit "York County Veterans Outreach" which assists our local heroes in need.
