Congratulations Rocco on his first hog. Thanks to all that helped with this outing. We couldn’t do things like this without our volunteers, prayer warriors, land owners, and those financially supporting the chapter. What a great day it was yesterday.

Colton and Rocco are about to take on a challenge. They are getting 2 shots at 100 yards completely zoomed out. The guns are all dialed in. We started at 50 and moved out to 100.

Faith That Can Be Seen

Today’s Passage
James 2:14–26

Highlighted Verse
“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
James 2:26

Most of us don’t spend much time thinking about what our actions reveal. We simply go through our day making decisions, responding to people, and facing whatever comes our way. Yet those ordinary moments often reveal more than we realize.

That is exactly the question James wants us to consider in this passage. He looks beyond the words we use to describe our faith and asks whether that faith is showing up in the way we live. A faith that never reaches our hands, our feet, or our everyday choices is not the kind of faith James describes.

Throughout this passage, James gives us examples from both everyday life and Scripture. He begins with a brother or sister who is in need. Kind words alone are not enough when we have the opportunity to help. Then he points to Abraham and Rahab, whose faith could be seen in the way they responded to God. Though their situations were very different, they all point to the same truth. Faith is meant to be seen.

As we finish reading this passage, James invites us to take an honest look at our own lives. Is our faith only something we say we have, or is it showing up in the way we live? Genuine faith does not remain only words. It becomes visible in the way we love others and the way we respond to God.

Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us a faith that is more than words alone. Help us to see the places where our lives do not match what we profess to believe. Give us hearts that are quick to love others, willing to obey You, and ready to put our faith into action. May our lives point others to Christ, not simply by what we say, but by the way we live. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Family Night this Monday Night 6:30-8:00 in the gym at Bethel Baptist in Lake Wylie. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Invite others and come join us for a great night.

After catching his limit Tristan went out to a kid who was not catching anything and offered to help. Even let him use his rod and lure. Of course the other kids dad told Tristan to leave. Tristan was trying to be helpful and kind but sometimes our help is not appreciated. We told Tristan it was great he was willing but if they refuse help you move on and help others. Today by 8:45 several boys with us had already caught their limit. No giants this year but fun and the kids are hoping to win door prizes now.

Hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait, and wrestle with your brother in the process. We have a few other boys from CTO meeting up and have started off with a beautiful morning. Hopefully we will have fish to post later. Thanks to Fish Cherokee and all those involved for this really fun annual event. If you didn’t make it this year mark your calendars for next year the first Saturday in August. Need a place to stay check out Indian Creek Campground. We really enjoy tent camping there and it’s not too hot up there even when it is back home.

If you come plan to bring a cart, chairs, a cooler, drinks and snacks. Get in line by 5:30 AM. Pre-register on Friday picking up shirts, hats, etc and their wrist band. You can register online but still need to pick up their free stuff and wrist band.
