Locust Grove Families, Teachers, Friends, Sponsors and all those who helped make our Trunk or Treat event so special… I am really not even sure where to begin when it comes to thanking everyone for last night’s Trunk or Treat and I really hope I do not forget anyone. What started as a night we were excited about (and, honestly, a little stressed about pulling together) turned into something really special.
We struggled a bit in the beginning to find enough volunteers, so seeing our community come together the way it did meant more to me than I can put into words. People stepped up, jumped in, and helped wherever they were needed. One of the things that touched me the most was watching people finish setting up their areas and then turn around and ask, “What else can I help with?” That might seem like a small thing, but when you’re trying to make an event like this happen, it means EVERYTHING.
To every parent or family member who lent a hand, every teacher and staff member who created something amazing and helped out, every student who volunteered and worked hard wherever we needed them, and everyone who jumped in without hesitation — THANK YOU! You helped make this night possible.
A special thank-you to our reading team Mrs Kuehne, Michelle King , and Mrs Morrison for putting so much time and effort into the Story Walk. The kids and parents love reading it every year, and it is always such a wonderful addition to the evening! Thank you to CR Weston, who was so flexible and willing to help wherever we needed her, including taking on the very important job of keeping an eye on the bounce houses while the kids played. Thank Mrs Hughes and Mrs Clark for answering a million and one questions and helping us to build a successful event. Thank you to all the teachers and staff members who decorated some of the best pumpkins I have ever seen and anyone who helped in any way they could. Thank you to our wonderful custodians who helped prepping our school for setup and so graciously offered to take care of a lot of clean up after we left. We are so grateful for all of you!
To our food trucks, Bricker's Famous French Fries, Cookie & Dough, Lancaster Cupcake, thank you for sticking it out through the thunderstorms. You waited for the weather to pass and then opened up so our families could enjoy some great food. We appreciate your patience and willingness to roll with the unexpected!

Thank you to the York County Police Department for setting up at our event, and to Krapf bus company for turning one of their buses into a spooky Haunted Bus experience! Please, please forgive me if I am missing anyone… my mind is still spinning. But I will just say one more time THANK YOU EVERYONE!! Last night was a reminder of what can happen when people come together for something bigger than themselves. The weather threw us a curveball, plans had to change, and there were plenty of moving pieces — but everyone rolled with it, helped each other out, and made it happen.
As part of the PTO, these are the moments that remind us why we do this. Seeing our kids having fun, families enjoying the evening, and our community showing up for our school made every bit of the work worthwhile.
