We can't finish out Mental Health Awareness Week without recognizing some resources in York County-

York County MH-IDD- https://yorkcountypa.gov/480/York-Adams-MH-IDD-Program This program supports children (ages 3 to 18) who have a serious emotional disturbance (a mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder that seriously affects their daily life), and adults (ages 18 and up) who have a serious and persistent mental illness.

NAMI York-Adams Counties PA- provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives within our community.
They partner with many local businesses, churches, and other organizations to address the needs of our community relating to mental illness.

Will we see you at the York City Police Department (York, Pa)Fall Fest this weekend?

Probation Services (including CIT, Wellness Courts, Adult & Juvenile Divisions and Reentry) is excited to join dozens of community organizations for resources, food, music, a bounce house, zipline, hayride and even a haunted house, all free to families and neighbors in York City.

Stop by from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 3, along West King and South Beaver streets in downtown York.

What a beautiful fall day in Downtown York! 🍂☀️
Our Probation Services team had a great time being part of York City Police Department’s 6th Annual Fall Fest today! We were out sharing information about the many programs and services under the probation umbrella and connecting with community members.
Our staff also joined our friends at York City PD for some of the fun — helping out at the haunted house, keeping the kids entertained at the bounce house, and collecting donations in exchange for raffle tickets. 👻🎟️
It was great to see so many members of our community come out to enjoy the beautiful weather, have some fun, and support our neighbors. Events like this are a great reminder of what happens when our community comes together. ❤️
Thank you to York City PD for another great Fall Fest and to everyone who stopped by to see us!

Today kicks off Mental Health Awareness Week which focuses on raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting mental health support.

Did you know...
*1 in 3 or 29% of U.S. high school students reported their mental health was not good most of the time or always during the past 30 days.

*1 in 5 or 19% of U.S. adults were ever told by a doctor or other health care professional that they had any type of depression disorder.

*4 in 5 or 82% of U.S. adults felt they received the social and emotional support they needed.

Sharing on behalf of our community partner, Open Arms Recovery Center .

Open Arms is growing!

They now have a bilingual therapist available to provide services to individuals and families who may benefit from Spanish-speaking support.

They also have a therapist who is a 16-year military veteran in recovery who will be working with veterans seeking treatment and recovery support. He will also assist veterans with navigating resources and working with the military regarding potential changes to their discharge status when appropriate.

They are excited to expand their ability to serve both the Spanish-speaking community and our local veteran population and provide specialized support based on their unique needs.
