โ€œWe are incredibly honored to receive funding from Aurora Cooperative. These funds will stay local and directly support our neighbors, families, and friends throughout York, Merrick, Polk, and Hamilton Counties. YC3โ€™s financial assistance program helps community members navigate hardships, and this grant will allow us to continue expanding our impact and reach more local residents in need.

In addition to providing financial assistance, these funds will help us maintain and stock our growing network of little food pantries. YC3 will soon support 11 little food pantries across five communities in York County and keeping them supplied is an ongoing community effort. This funding will make a meaningful difference in the work we do, and we are extremely grateful for the support provided by Aurora Cooperative.

Board Highlight: Josh Gillespie

Meet Josh Gillespie, Captain with the York County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Josh has had the privilege of serving the people of York County for more than two decades, beginning his law enforcement career with YCSO in 2004. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2019 and Captain in 2021, continuing to lead with dedication and a commitment to protecting the community.

A driving force behind Joshโ€™s service is his passion for mentoring the next generation. As York Countyโ€™s D.A.R.E. instructor, he has had the opportunity to connect with and teach more than 3,500 middle school students about drug abuse resistance, safety, and making positive choices. He believes helping young people make good decisions is one of the most impactful ways to build a safer and stronger community.

Joining the YC3 Board was a natural fit for Josh because many of the challenges law enforcement encounters are closely connected to the issues facing our community. Through YC3, he brings a public safety perspective to the table and shares insight into what is happening locally. At the same time, his involvement with YC3 has given him a greater understanding of the resources available throughout York County, allowing him to better connect individuals and families he encounters in the field with the support they need.

Josh has seen firsthand how YC3 helps people access coaching, financial assistance, basic needs, and other community resources.

Thank you, Josh, for more than 20 years of service to York County, your commitment to mentoring our youth, and your dedication to building a safer, stronger, and more resilient community!

York County Community Coalition is expanding into Hamilton County -

While we just get started, one of the first things we are doing is installing food pantries in multiple towns across Hamilton County. These are no cost to their new community, we just ask for a little community support if you can donate!
