LIFECYCLES

LIFECYCLES LIFECYCLES builds young men & women of character in a Christ-centered bicycle touring adventure program. The LIFECYCLES experience builds crucial life skills.

LIFECYCLES teens are loved unconditionally, encouraged, challenged, empowered, and supported in an environment of trust, accountability, and responsibility designed to build confidence, hope, life skills, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. LIFECYCLES leaders make the promise offered in the book of Hebrews: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” In exchange, we ask LIFECYCLES teens

to be faithful, available, and teachable. The LIFECYCLES experience engages teens in a habitual routine
- Monday evenings the girls’ team meets for riding and mentoring
- Tuesdays and Thursday evenings are for team training rides, a meal and mentoring
- Saturdays are for longer, scenic rides to build miles and self-confidence through achievement....with meals and more mentoring.
- Summers include a week long trip to continue to build confidence and change lives through leadership development, service, teamwork, and dreaming, all while seeing the country. Mentoring builds skills in money management, the value of nutrition and fitness, and in engaging effectively with authority figures. Mentoring and encouragement builds the desire to stay in school, find post high school employment, or apply for a vocational school or college. Boys and girls are encouraged, challenged, and lifted up in an optimistic, hopeful environment. The entire LIFECYCLES experience and all the associated gear, meals, transportation, and mentoring is free of charge.

God gave us a gorgeous, first weekend ride from Oregon Dairy through Amish farmland.

Dave Evans and Dave Stauffer presented $5,000 gift from Lancaster Bicycle Club. LIFECYCLES thanks the LBC board for their generosity toward these young members of the cycling community in Lancaster County.

On this John Mullineaux Ice Cream Lovers ride, the girls’ team rode a 36-mile route, and three boys’ teams rode routes of 26, 36, and 46 miles. Refreshment stops at Lapp Valley Farm and Bird-In-Hand Bakery were highlights.

Many thanks to the folks at Oregon Dairy for allowing us to anchor our day at their fun outdoor ice cream bar and goat ranch.

Thank you, ride leaders for making these amazing adventures possible.
