A grant award is only part of a much bigger story.

When we talk about impact, we're talking about more than how much money an organization receives. We're talking about the needs that funding helps address, the people who benefit, and the difference that work can make in our community.

That means looking beyond the dollar amount to consider what the funding makes possible.

Because the real value of giving isn't just what we contribute. It's what that contribution helps accomplish.

That's the kind of impact the Women's Giving Circle works to support across York County.

Two very different projects. One shared goal: creating more opportunity in York.

The Women’s Giving Circle has approved two new grants:

🏘️ Strong Blocks, Strong York — $30,000 to help revive and expand resident-led neighborhood associations across five York neighborhoods.

🧁 Sweet Success — $4,000 for a six-week culinary workforce pilot for young adults with special needs, in partnership with the City of York and Russy's Sweet Treats.

We’re especially excited about these grants because they put trust into practice. Rather than telling grantees exactly what success should look like, we’re giving them the resources and room to define it themselves.

Two new projects. Two different approaches. Plenty more to tell you about.

Stay tuned.

🪏 Many hands, one very fun place to play!

We loved seeing the new playground at Lincoln Charter School come to life, from the community build days to the ribbon cutting.

Women’s Giving Circle was glad to play a part in bringing this new space to local students, and even happier to see it ready for recess! 🛝

🌟 Member Spotlight: Amy Milsten 🌟

The heart of Women's Giving Circle is the women who bring their passions, perspectives, and generosity to the Circle.

Meet Amy Milsten, a longtime advocate for young people and education. In this spotlight, she shares some of the WGC initiatives that have meant the most to her and the moments that have stuck with her along the way.

We're grateful to have you in our circle, Amy! 🫶

🛝 A playground built by the community, for the community.

Women’s Giving Circle is investing in the students of Lincoln Charter School with a $10,000 grant toward their new playground - built largely by community volunteers 💪

We love seeing community members roll up their sleeves and build something that will benefit local kids for years to come. We’re thrilled to be part of it!

A little learning, a little lunch, and a lot to celebrate! 🩷

WGC members recently toured Byrnes Health Education to see how our grant funding is helping bring hands-on health education to children and families across York County.

CEO Annie Beck and Senior Director of Development Lyndsey Mackie showed us around and shared more about two programs supported by our Giving Circle: 🍎Eat Play Grow🍎 and 🦠Goodbye, Germs🦠

We’re grateful for the chance to see this work in action, hear directly from the people making it happen, and share a lunch and social hour with the Byrnes team. Thank you for welcoming us!

Together, we've invested more than $1.34 million to make a lasting difference. Thank you to every member who helps turn generosity into impact.

This lively group is more than a bunch of smiling faces: they're teaching kids in York County to protect themselves from abuse.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the puppets of York County Children's Advocacy Center's Safe Touches program visited over 3,100 students in almost 170 local classrooms to spread their message of prevention and body safety - all with a little help from a $20,000 grant from our Women's Giving Circle 🫶

Cheers to the puppets of Project Safe and Smart! They may have funny voices, but they're teaching kids to find theirs.
