A couple additional photos of the child being removed from the 2nd floor front window from the N Pine St fire on Tuesday afternoon. The mother was assisted out of the same window right after.

York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services was dispatched at 4:22 this afternoon to the intersection of N Pine St and Port Ave for a residential structure fire. Engine 99-1 arrived in under 2 minutes and confirmed a working fire with multiple entrapments.

Firefighters successfully rescued a woman and her son from the 2nd floor via ground ladder. Firefighters, York City Police Department (York, Pa), and neighbors were also able to rescue a dog from the rear of the house using the short roof and another ground ladder.

The kitchen fire was quickly extinguished whilst these rescues were occurring simultaneously.

The family was sleeping and was alerted to the fire by smoke detectors.

Here is the ticket drawing from the “cooler package” raffle where tickets were sold at BAPS Motor Speedway. Paul was the lucky winner, he was contacted and he donated the cooler package to our Fire Buddy Family.

Thank you to BAPS and everyone that made donations, bought Project Fire Buddy apparel, and purchased tickets.

This evening several on duty and off duty members attended Phoenix Advocates’ LODD Planning Course, hosted by our brothers and sisters of Greater York Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2377. The course covered the tough but important topic for members, their families, Unions, and fire departments being prepared for the unfortunate event of a line of duty death, and what assistance options there are.

Early this morning, City units were dispatched to the Rail Trail along the Codorus Creek for a rescue. Units arrived to find a patient that had fallen approximately 50ft down the embankment. Crews provided patient care and constructed a rope rescue system to extricate the patient and transfer care to Life Team EMS. B Platoon Working.
