York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services just cleared a fire in the 400 block of Salem Ave. Units arrived on scene in under 3 minutes to flames showing from multiple windows of a two-story home at the end of a row of four. Crews made an aggressive attack and search of the home and confirmed no occupants while preventing spread into the neighboring homes.

Special thanks to our partners: LifeTeam EMS, West York Fire Dept Reliance Station 1, West Manchester Township Fire Department, York Area United Fire and Rescue, and York City Police Department (York, Pa) for the use of their drone.

As always, thank you to our volunteers for their support on the scene.

Local 627 would like to sincerely thank the anonymous donor who provided these Milwaukee Drill and Impact Driver kits for each of the stations. These tools play a surprisingly important role in our stations not only for the sake of having available for various work, but being utilized as part of building a safer York, installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in homes. Every donation can make a big impact to aid our members in ensuring a safer community. Thank you!

Today marks 25 years since the attacks that unfolded against our country, involving the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA.

We pause to remember the thousands of lives lost and forever affected that day, as well as the heroic actions of our brothers and sisters who sacrificed all so that others may live.

We will never forget.
