Hope to see you at one or both of our chess club meetings this week!

First one is Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kreutz Creek Library in Hellam.

The second is Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at In Between Pages in York.

Both meetings are free and players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Equipment provided.

Folks,

If you know a young person (grades 3-12) interested in chess, you should sign them up for The Academic Athlete Chess Club meeting this Sunday in York.

It's free, equipment will be provided, and kids will get a chance to meet and play against other young chess players and get individual or group instruction at their level from special guests including Jessica and Eric from York Chess Club, Mike Koplitz from York's Royal Rooks, and Pennsylvania State Chess Federation President, Leteef Street.

This is our first time working with The Academic Athlete and we hope to continue working with them to create a strong youth chess culture in York County.

Registration is required. Also, this is a kids-only event, so you will be dropping off and picking up. Looks like we're going to have some rain this weekend. Perfect chess weather!

Hey, folks. It's the second Thursday of the month and that means York Chess Club is split... across two locations in two counties!

Steve Willard will host a chess club meeting tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Altland House Inn, 1 Center Square, Abbottstown. Stop in early to take advantage of happy hour specials (try the Brussels Sprouts) and stay to enjoy some friendly games of chess. These meetings take place the second Tuesday of each month.

Eric Trimmer will host a chess club meeting tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at In Between Pages bookstore, 113 S. Duke St., York. Come to play and make friends, and be sure to leave some time to browse. You'll get a kick out of the store's amazing selection of books, vinyl records, and other cool stuff.

Both meetings are for all ages and skill levels. Equipment provided.

It's a Van Damme Shame you can't attend both meetings!
