But everyone can do something.

Maybe your home is not in a place where fostering is possible right now.

Maybe your schedule does not allow it.

Maybe fostering simply is not the right role for your family.

That does not mean you cannot be part of the solution.

NEBRASKA NEEDS FOSTER FAMILIES.

There are children who need adults willing to provide stability during one of the most uncertain times in their lives.

You do not have to be married to foster.

Single individuals and couples are welcome to explore becoming foster parents with Renewed Horizon.

And you are not expected to figure everything out by yourself.

The process begins with learning, asking questions, completing training, preparing your home, and working with a team that supports you throughout the journey.

Your “yes” could become a child’s fresh start.

You Are Not Being Asked to Be a Hero. You Are Being Asked to Be Steady.

Over the last four weeks, we have talked about situations based on real needs seen in Nebraska foster care.

Siblings who need to remain together.
Young children whose trauma shows up through behavior.
Teenagers who have stopped believing school matters.
Youth who need someone capable of coordinating treatment and appointments.

Those situations sound very different.
But the need underneath them is remarkably similar.

A safe adult who keeps showing up.

Foster parenting can mean:
Getting everyone out the door for school.
Sitting through an IEP meeting.
Driving to therapy.
Helping a child calm down.
Supporting a family connection.
Learning a medication schedule.
Making dinner.
Calling your support worker because you do not know what to do next.
Trying again tomorrow.

You do not have to save a child.
You do not have to be perfect.
You do have to be willing to learn, communicate, maintain appropriate boundaries, accept support, and provide consistency.

That is the work.

And somewhere in Nebraska, the next referral will eventually come across someone's desk.
The question is whether there will be a family available who can say:
“Tell me more.”
