🇺🇸 Why do service dogs matter?🐕‍🦺

Because behind every service dog is a veteran reclaiming a piece of their life.

This powerful article shares the stories of veterans living with PTSD and how their service dogs helped them regain confidence, independence, and connection to the world around them. For many, these dogs are more than companions—they are trained partners who recognize anxiety, interrupt escalating symptoms, create space in crowded environments, and help veterans navigate daily life with greater confidence.

At CVSDT, we see this transformation firsthand. Every training session is about more than obedience or task work. It is about building trust, restoring confidence, and helping veterans continue their mission beyond military service.

Service dogs do not erase the challenges veterans face, but they often provide the support, stability, and partnership needed to take the next step forward.

We encourage you to take a few moments to read this inspiring article and learn more about the life-changing impact service dogs can have on veterans and their families.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day weekend, CVSDT Veterans and Teams were honored to stand alongside fellow veterans and community members during the York County Memorial Day Ceremony and VFW Buddy Poppy outreach events as we remembered and honored our fallen brothers and sisters in arms 🌺🐾

From distributing Buddy Poppies at Lake Wylie Walmart to gathering with the community in York County to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day, these moments reminded us that freedom has always carried a cost.

We were humbled to hear powerful words from distinguished veterans, connect with members of our community, and continue serving alongside organizations dedicated to remembering those who gave everything for this nation.

Memorial Day is not about a long weekend.

It is about sacrifice.

It is about Americans who answered the call in every generation — from the battlefields of the Revolution and Civil War… to the trenches of World War I… the shores of Normandy and islands of the Pacific… the frozen mountains of Korea… the jungles of Vietnam… the deserts of the Middle East… and every conflict, mission, and quiet battlefield in between, even our own.

It is about their ultimate sacrifice.

Some died in combat.
Some died carrying others.
Some gave everything in service long before the world knew their names.
Some continued fighting the invisible wounds of war until the burden became too heavy to carry alone.

All are remembered by the brothers and sisters who still carry them in their hearts.

For veterans, Memorial Day is personal.

We remember the voices.
The laughter.
The final radio calls.
The empty seats at reunions.
The folded flags handed to grieving families.
The friends who should have grown old beside us.

Freedom has always carried a cost.
And throughout our nation’s history, generations of American service members willingly bore that burden for the person standing next to them… and for a country they loved.

At CVSDT, we remember ALL who made the ultimate sacrifice — across every branch, every era, every war, every conflict, and every mission.

Their legacy lives on in our continued service to veterans, families, and one another.

We will remember them.
We will honor them.
And we will never allow their sacrifice to be forgotten. 🇺🇸
