Adoptions have been slow and the need has never been higher. The ones who need a safe place, the ones who have been abandoned, the ones running out of time aren't being helped.
The adoptions that make room for the next cat have slowed down, and the weight of trying to keep everything flowing is catching up with me.
I’m one person behind a lot of what you see here. The emails, the intakes, the adoption profiles, the updates, the fundraising, the coordination, the constant worry about the ones still waiting. I do it because these cats matter, but right now, I need a minute to breathe.
So I’ll be taking a break from social media for a bit. Not because I’ve stopped caring, and not because the cats have stopped coming. I just need to step back, recharge, and give myself the same compassion I try to give every animal who comes through our doors.
Please keep our kitties in your thoughts while I take this time to catch my breath.
