Cub Scouts of Pack 580 to Eagle Scouts of Troop 762!!!

We held our Promotion and Crossover Ceremony this weekend where our Cub Scouts received their Rank Patches and Crossed-Over to their New Rank with new uniform items & handbook.

It also included our Arrow of Light scout "Bridging" to our Boy Scout Troop 762- Yorba Linda with Yorba Linda Councilwoman Janice Lim presenting him with a certificate and pin from the city!

We finished with a Celebration Reception of cake and ice cream!!!

The Pinewood Derby is an iconic part of Cub Scouts! It helps scouts learn a process to work towards that takes time, planning and effort before the thrill of the race and the triumph of success can come. This year we are trying to help our scouts, especially our newer scouts, in the process, We started in January with Cutting Workshops in February we had a Sanding workshop. Next in March will be Painting and Wheel & Axel Prep workshops, in April a Weights workshop before the big Derby Race Day on April 18th!

It's a process...so is Scouting! Start the process with us at Pack 580 Yorba Linda and the thrills and success will come for all!!!

A busy weekend at Pack 580...Snow Play Day in Big Bear area and Pinewood Derby Workshop, getting cars cut for the Big Pinewood Derby Race Day in April!

Pack 580 participated in the Orange County Council's Ten Commandment Hike in the Irvine area. We had the largest group there again this year!!!

Our Cub Scout families participate in a special Meals on Wheels program for Thanksgiving & Christmas Day deliveries to the elderly. This year we helped make Christmas Cards for the meal bags and donated many items to the Christmas Purple Goodie Bags of basic essentials and fun items. Our Camping themed Trunk has been at Linda Vista Elementary and Fairmont Elementary for their Trunk or Treat events!
It will make its first time visit to Glenview Elementary's Trunk or Treat this Thursday!!

One of our families was also at Van Buren Elementary's Trunk or Treat representing Pack 580!

We love participating with our local schools in their celebrations and being of service when we can.
