🪞poet laureate Phillisha Villanueva will guide us through a creative writing workshop inspired by the gallery and our collective cultural experiences
🫟 block printing & clothing swap: bring something / take something / make something. Pre made blocks and materials provided for you to print on cloth and paper.
🫶🏽 re: clothing swap: we have a lot to share so don’t stress about bringing something ! Pls bring clean gently used items.
🤩community lunch: we try our best to ensure our gatherings include food as it’s essential to our physical and mental wellbeing. It’s estimated that 1 in 3 families in Westchester suffer from food and nutrition insecurity. We hope to uplift commensality (eating together) as a key factor in community building understanding its social and cultural significance.

If you’re 14-15 years old as of March 15th, free up your Tuesdays and Sundays until May 27th because we have opened our youth cohort applications!

Youth Power Coalition is looking for young people (14-15 years old as of March 15, 2025) to coordinate and organize our next youth power convening! Your responsibilities will include choosing the theme of the convening, sorting out the logistics (food, location, etc.), and planning the agenda with the support of our current Youth Executive Director and other members of our support staff and in community with our coalition members. This cohort will be compensated with a stipend of $1,000 and will be two months long—from March 23rd to May 27th—with a commitment of 5 hours per week. After the cohort process, you may be nominated for compensated support staff roles that include Youth Executive Director, Community Circle Co-Coordinator, and Social Media Manager!

We are hiring! Youth Power Coalition is looking for an Adult Executive Director to co-lead with our Youth Executive Director. Together, you’ll coordinate our team of youth leaders and adults as we support our movement network. You will embody our values, facilitate programs, build relationships, create systems, mobilize resources, and create opportunities for others to lead.

This is not a typical nonprofit role! We make decisions together through consent using a process called sociocracy, practice intergenerational organizing and governing, aspire to community-centric fundraising and believe in doing things differently. Read our Grand Strategy to learn more.

Location: New York City (hybrid)
Hours: 12-16 hours a week (after-school, evening, and weekend hours needed, with flexibility to accommodate personal schedules)
Commitment: 4 years
Pay: Up to $50/hour based on your financial needs and our financial resources. Pay is self-proposed with guidance from a financial self-assessment and the MIT Living Wage Calculator, and decided collaboratively with our staff. For details, see our Financial Accessibility Policy.
Benefits: 8 hours of PTO per year.
